    book mmm....goood..

Hey all. I'm no stranger to ca but this is one of my first sketchbooks. I have made them before but this was literally years ago.
At the moment I'm deployed and I'm working on getting my portfolio built up a bit in my spare time. Any help would be great for crtiques. I really want to do something in character design for video games down the road. I have...a lot.. of work ahead. I'm going to put in all the work and then some because its a serious dream of mine. I love doing this.. nothing else to it.
So yeah.. I don't really have a scanner, but I brought my tablet with me and bought painter 11 before I got here and this is my first time using Painter. Most of what I'll show here will be in photoshop though, at least until I'm feeling more so comfortable with Painter.
I'm going to be working a lot with fundamentals in alot of these posts because I've been told thats something I really still need work in, especially anatomy.

Hey man. I was deployed and was trying to draw too. This was years ago though. What I would recommend is to get a camera. There were so many pictures that I liked to take. Then, if I get any time, I would just sketch them in my sketchbook. But, in your case, I think if you had the time, pulling out your comp and sketching in that would be much faster, and easier.

When would you have any spare time? I remember I had roughly only 5 - 6 hours to sleep, a night. And I usually take like 2 - 3 hours of that, to do things for myself.

Yah man. Gloom's message was the bombshizzle. heheh. As for color. I just bought myself a set of Prismacolor. But, I haven't done anything with them yet. I'm sure there will some color pics on my next posting.
