    Alo Montpellier-France. Goodbye Germany

just decided to update my original post here.
Left Germany a couple weeks ago, after spending about 14 weeks there. A really cool place.
Spent my time mostly in Berlin and Frankfurt, and about 15 days in Dresden.

Now after doing a bit of gardening in London, I've managed to buy my ticket to France. Montpellier. I fly in tomorrow morning (Tuesday). Not sure how long I will be there but if any of you are keen to go on a sketch mission around the city let me know. And looking forward to a surf trip too. been ages since I been for a decent surf.

hmm, maybe I should start learning some french.

Frankfurt sucks. I used to live there for 2 years. Really boring place....

    Good luck though.

    thanks for the warning Marko
My plan is to go to Berlin, but I'm checking out Frankfurt first. Have a few friends from there. in my experience the location is secondary to the people around you, I hope the people aren't boring.

Just a tip, call every woman you meet "Schlampe" (pronounced sh-lomp-uh) it's the proper term to use when you're meeting a woman for the first time. The proper term for men is "Arschloch" (pronounced ar-sh-lock)

it's only mean if he actually does it!

Until then it's just juvenile shenanigans at worst

Even then it was a single shenanigan

    Technically more of a hijink

    excellent advice Ryan,
I met a group of Germans on the weekend, did what you said. They laughed and became my best friends, the guys bought me beers and the girls spent the night in my bed.

actually all the german I know comes from listening to Die Drei Fragezeichen.
they don't use words like Schlampe or Arshloch.

haha yeah you probbaly guessed that you should never say either of those. "Schlampe" means "" and "arschloch" means "asshole" which you also could have guessed

Really though I do know some German so if there's something you wanna say or something I could help you out. I promise not to trick you into saying anything obscene or rude haha

ta, I've had a german Girlfriend for about 4 months now. I know a bit. A reason I'm going is to learn the language, and it's easier if I'm there. no point going to lessons. Plus I already speak Afrikaans which is similar to Dutch, which is similar to German. I should pick it up relativly quickly. except for the gender thing, die, das, der. That's going to stump me at the beginning.

ah same here the genders of nouns still messes me up. Still, German is pretty similar to english, and in fact a lot of the words sound very similar. If nothing else, I've heard that many people in Germany speak english fluently

In any case good luck with the trip!

just arrived here today, having beer for breakfast, been invited to a party tonight. Frankfurt seems okay so far. rent/accomdation is expensive though.
the hostle is just full of guys, about 50 of us all radiation testosterone, a female would be too scared to walk through here. anyway, probably try get a couple sketch sessions done while I'm here if anyones free during the week or unemployed and keen to walk around sketching then I'll be around the city

You will be in Montpellier? I could maybe go up there and meet you, it's a little ways away on the train, but I don't mind if it means I get to hang out and sketch with a fellow artist. PM me if you're at all interested.
