47 Hours of Self Portrait , no sleep!

    This is a little weird

So the whole idea of this was to see if and how i endure 48 hours of self portraits / sating awake and drawing , as you will see in the log , things get a bit rough till the 48 hour deadline , In my mind i did not see this as a self portrait and hour or how many good ones i can produce , but as a whole and how it stands out as a group of drawings hanging on one theme , this was the easy part , i had myself for all that time , i was the best model , and the most understanding , i was there day and night , standing for another portrait , in most of them i used my mirror as reference .
As one of my friends told me when all of this was over , from a far this looked more like and endurance test , but to me it also stands out as a psychological drawing trial , reaching into the conscious and subconscious part of the artist . One thing is cretin , now i can barely look at myself in the mirror , i had to much of my self , i will be a while till my next self portrait

    log.

I started this on 22nd of April at 8.00 pm

Haha, that's pretty crazy! Fun project.. I'd like to see what you would do if you spent 48 hours on ONE portrait...

Haha , that crossed my mind , i even considered during this one as my next project , but i don't think i will go that far any more ... 48 hours it's a pain.

roxa_ralu , Justice Von Brandt thanks for the kind words ^^

I like em. I can see the sleep deprivation got to you after awhile, judging by the wackiness of some of them!

Do you feel like the exercise was worth it overall? Sounds like it would be a good thing to try, would not want to do it very frequently though. I guess it would be good training for a professional career, building up your endurance hehe.

Hey! I just found this thread via your sketchbook. Nice art work.

I just had to post and share my experience. I recently stayed awake 116 hours and 37 minutes (a little more than 4 and a half days), April 30th to May 5th, to spend on an art project for my drawing class. This was to record the passage of time, and to dedicate everything I had to art. And to see what would happen - wild stuff. Sleep isn't everything but it is pretty significant!

I really love that I came across this, I wanna experiment more and the SP's for a few days straight might be the way to go next time (maybe over summer break).

Hope to hear from you! And very nice job.

I'm cold as cold as cold can be.
