Bradtron ~ Anatomy & PS studies (slightly NSFW)

Hey, so this is my sketchbook, thank you for coming I am currently 18 years old, live in Ontario Canada, and am going to school for art. I've been to this site lots before, and seen a lot of tremendous growth in other peoples work, and was hoping that with your help (and my own hard work) that i could improve as well. This sketchbook will be pretty much daily throughout the summer, so please keep watching. Any crits and comments are always welcome, especially of the constructive genre.

For my first pictures, a random face of of the google, and an orc just for fun.Name: girlwithgunstudygoodthumbnail.jpg

doncam - Thanks for checking my stuff out man, i plan on posting a lot more

So this was done from reference linked from CA, I like the face but I think I need to work on fabric more. Also, my scanner is crap, so i adjust my contrast in PS, but it still doesn't come out looking like my original sketch, anyone get some quick pointers?. 2nd question, how can i embed a link to my sketchbook in my signature? Any answers are greatly appreciated.

I'm still working on this one, but im pretty proud of it so far. I want to push it to a finished level, so any critiques would be very appreciated. It's done on paper a little larger then my scanner, so not all of the bottom is included, but the main part is.

FightingSeraph- Thanks man, I'm not sure if I'm ready to start working on my colour stuff, i enjoy oil painting for fun, but I still want a firmer grasp on more fundamental stuff. We'll see though, maybe soon

This is a doodle while watching hockey last night, its ball point pen, theres a lot of scribbles cause i was just making random lines and looking for the image there. Thanks for looking.

So i'm brand new to PS, but i really, really want to learn to paint digitally. I got myself a Wacom and a copy of PS CS2. I started to paint and i'm going to put up 3 different versions of what i'm working on. The first is the original sketch, the second is the sketch with an overlay layer and paint, and the third is just the paint layer. My problem is, is that i like how the second image looks, but when i take away the line (the third image) the colour on its own doesn't look very good at all. I feel that the overlay layer is kind of cheating, and i would like to eventually push myself so that I wouldn't need this, and could just paint straight from PS. This is still a WIP and I would really, really, really love some advice and some direction. Thanks a ton

OK so this is still a WIP but i'm already much happier with it than with my last self portrait attempt. And please, for the love of god, i would really, REALLY like some crits on this one, i'm still shooting 100% in the dark in photoshop.

Cool paintings, but try to structure your stuff better and study some face proportions. For your latest picture, you should try to fix the nose. The position of the ear indicates that the face is turned towards its left, but your nose looks like its from the front view. Keep up the good work though, hope to see what you do with this pic

Not_Deadman - Thanks man, your definitely right, i'll work on that

Kennybrann - lol ya, that was sorta a sick idea that came to me watching a mother bird feed its 3 chicks in my backyard

I copied this from the The OFFICIAL Nude Figure Life Drawing Thread and copied it rather quickly in ball point pen. I don't really like it, but i figured i should post everything so here it is. I planned on working more on the portrait but my bro has the usb stick with the reference pick in it, so for now, just the shitty study.

Great work so far, but the first one correct me if i'm wrong, the far eye is a little to dark for the other eye, it looks kind of weird. Otherwise great work.

Icedearth - Ya, i was trying to show it in shadow, it didn't quite work though, thanks for commenting man

I've decided i suck really hard, so from now on i will attempt a study everyday. I work 2 jobs to pay for school so i may miss one day a week, but if i miss anymore than that I want anyone on this sketchbook to verbally abuse me to their hearts content. Seriously, feel free to take out all your anger, even small grievances, if i fail to do constant sketches. Also dont forget to crit the sketches i do complete. Thanks :for looking.

Icedearth - Thanks man, i really have worked a lot on anatomy, but i still know i have so, so much more to learn

In the spirit of one study a day i went out and bought Anatomy for the Artist, and it is fantastic. I'll be busy for the next 5 years with that book. Here's my first drawing from it. I'd do more, but sadly i still havn't found a way to eliminate my bodies need for sleep.

Two new ones, the male back i'm not very happy with it, maybe it's lacking shape or something... and the shoulder/upper arm study, that one was quick, bit I'm pretty happy with it, I feel I got everything looking properly and my hatching is much nicer. Well in my opinion anyways, let me know what you guys think.

Another photoshop study. I'm really proud of this one actually, even though I am still far from where I want to be skill wise with PS. I experimented with some texture and using other brushes. Any suggestions in this area would be especially appreciated. I also included my process, so please comment on anything you think I could improve on.
