    Dynamic Energy challenge - Hero X4!!!! Stage2! - All welcome! -

Hello & Welcome to the Dynamic Energy Challenge - Hero X4!!!!

    Characters:
    Spawn, Ghostrider, Deadpool & Nightcrawler
(Props to Me,Myself&MeAgain for suggesting these - thanks buddy!)

So - the idea with this challenge is you can use as many or few of the characters as you wish - you can have them as co-op against any enemy or fighting against each other, one of them just being dynamic on his own or a split panel showing two of the characters on each panel, etc, etc - be creative!

    The only restrictions are:

Your final submissions must include 1,2,3 or 4 of these characters as the main focus
You must have at least one obvious dynamic element - perspective, action, etc
sketches+chosen 'idea' only in stage 1 please!
    Have awesome fun!

    ------------------------
    Stage 1 =sketches+finished ideas - deadline 30th April '09 - done!

    Stage 2 =finished colour pieces - extended deadline - now 17th May '09!

If you'd like to join in at stage 2 then please go for it!

Feel free to use any media or art style - all I ask is that you keep it clean thanks! (no obscene stuff etc - you know the drill )
    ------------------------

With stage 1, it's all about the idea and creativity of your rough - please hold back on the final rendering until stage 2! If everyone finds they are finished and ready for stage 2 early then I'm happy to bring the deadlines closer if we all agree

feel free to post WIPs if you like but let me know when the image you post is your final piece thanks

    Any questions - just ask!

Please keep all submissions original - copied art is not allowed - thanks!

Hey TobbA - nice wip and interesting match-up with spawn and ghost-rider as they both use chains as weapons (brings up all sorts of composition and energy-focus decisions) - comments so far would be:

Anatomy needs some work but looking pretty good,
Definitely dynamic with plenty of potential for energy...
one thing I'd really look into though is choice of poses to describe what's going on. At the moment it looks as though spawn is attempting to attack Ghostrider but rather than being knocked back with great impact, Ghosty is standing there saying 'is that all you've got!? - hahaha!' ... I will try to explain better with sketches if what I've said is confusing! Try to think of motion, impact and effect and how best to exaggerate that to really go for it with being dynamic!

Hm.. It might not be very visible in the sketch but spawn actually has wrapped his chains around mr ghosts chest. That's why he's sort of looking down saying 'oh crap'

I'll see about puting some more cause and effect into it though.

    Here's my idea/sketch

    Dynamic Energy challenge - Hero X4!!!! Stage2! - All welcome! -

like how the available heroes all fit within a certain genre/power range. But spawn is way to powerful, so I thought I should have deadpool thrash him

tobbA: I like it, for a basic adjustment maybe the chains could be lashing and doing some visible damage

I have never participated here before but how can I refuse such a tempting topic! 1,000,000 kudos to me,myself&meagain for this awesome opportunity.

on a side note I totally agree with mohog. Spawn is much to powerful and not to mention deadpool is the F'n' coolest villain there is. Who better to deal out just deserts.

Nice work MoHog and BubbaGump! - really dynamic feel to both pics!

The only suggestion I have for your piece MoHog is to look out for Deadpool's grip on the gun - at the moment his hand is all loose and pointing in a different direction than the gun. Small crit though - overall v cool!

BubbaGump - sweet vibe going on! Nice strong flowing lines and style - again watch out with your hands - they are tending to be a bit stubby and out of proportion - Overall v cool as well though!

Hoping to upload mine as well soon

Going for the element of surprise as night crawler evades deadpool's attack and counters by apearing behind him. toying with whether or not I want to show more of night crawler like having him appear dropping down on deadpool. what do you think?

I think I have the concept down. But I am kinda confused as to what exactly dynamic means. Does it mean the picture shows movement? I think I am confusing myself. I think I have an idea for a quick sketch but not sure if it fits.

Hey legendary - cool to have you joining the challenge! By 'Dynamic energy' I mean 1 or more elements of the image being dynamic ... it could be a dynamic setting like on top of a cliff with a cool viewpoint or dynamic movement like extreme speed or action shown or a dynamic attitude, perspective, humor, style, etc ... basically give the image a lot of energy and push that further than a normal image would be. Make it exciting and well ...Dynamic!!

    Hope that helps

Edit: here is a quick sketch to basically illustrate the idea

Ok everyone - all stage1 pieces must be submitted b4 tomorrow! (if you've only managed a quick scribble that's ok - you'll have a chance to really go for it in stage2!)

Here are a few sketches I've done - not really as finished an idea as I would have liked but hey! I seem to have also got into the whole powerful nature of Spawn with all 3 of the others teaming up - he's not getting all his way but is not having an easy time either!

Stage 2 starts tomorrow (1st May) but I'll also be gathering all the stage 1 final submissions and putting them in a poll asap too.

    Hey Batcustard - hahaha - you're mad!

Very dynamic and totally bursting with random awesomeness! I'll take the second image as your stage 1 piece - feel free to shade colour or whatever for stage 2

I'll probably have the poll up sometime tomorrow - please remember stage 2 is in process now so feel free to post wips etc

paint so far, given deadpool a dynamically large deagle
hopefully finish soon and add the colour and some effects for dear old spawn

Batcustard: awesome, I agree with THe7Artist7. Mainly due the addition of the monocle my vote is yours.
