I have been sick, poor, lost assignments, had my car break down. But I press on with optimism finally got everything out of the way to finish this sucker. So friken busy. Need to make time to draw. Also I went to the Australian version of comic con, named supernova... its was pretty lame ha ha. ah well.

teapo: ha, best worst song ever, thanks man.
    adamsimons: thanks, you too!
Bruce: sprucy brucy thank you for liking my logos man i appreciate it.
JamesSimons: my pleasure, and thank you.

I'm having a crack at an entire composition... ...why not i feel brave.

skMOP: patience is key my friend
    Dannyphoto: will do
MattGamer: thanks dude that means a lot
teapo: yeah, i should have taken photos, also that dude that plays Malfoy from HP (Harry Potter) was there, but i think his crying on the movies pisses me of. So no i DO NOT WANT YOUR AUTOGRAPH! ha ha. i kid i kid

So i requests an opinion, on the poses i have quickly smashed out. I have rendered one "but"... lol that is the one i want to do, its more altitude-ish, but the other one is more dynamic... OMG! Oh so the theme is Red Riding Hood. I definitely need more mood. So i'll have to come back and change the hues to give some nice apropriate mood to the piece. But this requires much knowledge so i shall research. so yeah OPINIONS PPL! What looks like its going to be crap. I see i need to watch perspective too. looks off...

ryanoir: thanks for the tips man. Yeah i definitely need to add good lighting, reflect the environment on the character, add mood hues, allow for interaction between the environment and the char. Ha I'll get there. Nice meme by the way, I was actually interpreting that song when my friend took the photo. And bro the coast man, we're practically neighbors ha ha.

Smashed this out on the way home from uni today

nice rendering... especially on her ass but yes, the color of her body doesn't fit with her surroundings-- but i already see you spotted that yourself xD maybe you can mess with some overlay / color layers on certain areas of her body just to get the general hue shifts to accurately ground her in the environment?

    keep it up buddy!

Nice sketchbook man! Always dig sketches on the bus. On that last chow, I think you might tone down the texture on the ground a bit, it's pretty distracting and pulls attention away from the figure. The figure is looks very well done!

Very interesting illustration. I agree with ryanoir. Take a second thought of what is the important elements in this work (this will help u with the composition). Now the character is centered and in a big scale. Centered means that symmetrical things can balance the whole work (this may give some boring outcome but it depends). Also the main figure(in the foreground/midground doesnt contrast a lot with the background in terms of sillouete/shape/direction[[overally]] [for example we see vertical form in foreground and also vertical form in background]=[that creates a unity and probably the eye cant move easily in the back]=[the addition of horizontal branches will create a pattern/rythm of horizontal form that in addition with the vertical trunks will be both a vertical tree, with nice horizontal forms to contrast with the figure and contrast the foreground from the background]. Anyway these are just my ideas here heeheh there is no law
Its a great piece to keep working on it, whatever change u might want to make. U could play with another viewpoint, for example "from below", like having the camera in the ground , but ok it would change the mood in a different way. Anyway i am telling this to feed your mind hehehe

I did a quick paintover. I added some elements to lead the eye from the fore-foreground to the foreground/midground and then it needs more depth to enjoy the background. Also added some lightsource to give some shadows, to describe the forms and spaces better. Also some change to the pose because it felt very confident.

I find this piece very interesting, and the rendering is really great. Keep up the great work and sorry for doing this without asking

you should probably leave the rendering till after you get your comp sorted, to avoid getting precious with anything too early.
anyway the shoulders seem quite high, i did little warp adjustment to illustrate

    And I progress a little...
    So I added the suggested
    • Lighting
    • Mood
    • Off center
    • More Dynamic Pose

Also maybe i'll a tree trunk, and some particles... like leaves or something. maybe some filtered light. At any rate still got a long way to go. hmm

teapo: i think i did this a little, messed around with colour adjustment, changed the shadow, midtone to blue/magenta and the highlights to yellow/red. I think it matches more now. Thanks man.
ryanoir: Yeah the Brisbane buses! And yes its extremely hard to draw on the bus ha ha. An to answer your questing I'm studying a Bachelor of Creative Media - Majoring in Graphic Design, at QANTM! The nerd uni. lol
Jasper_: I hope its not as bright now, looks alright on my screen. The brightest parts are the buttocks and the hood. I still need to apply the lighting to the body properly though. hmm. Thanks by the way ha ha.
kingkostas: Dude your the man! Thanks for taking the time to right that master piece! The crazy thing is that I actually just learnt all that in Design theory, couple of weeks ago I believe. SO their is a law, Law of the Line... or something of that nature. You probably picked it up without even noticing. Which is AWESOME! Very applicable theory though, i was kind of paying attention. Now that you said all that I wish I payed more attention. And a super thankyou for the paint over sir. I would do something crazy like that, but I've already done to much I fear. But you have definitely given me a lot to consider for future pieces and for that I thank you.
adamsimons: Yes I think you right about the Shoulders, my original intention was to make her CREEP a little,

but the comp has taken a different turn. Thank you for your crit I hope i have gotten closer to a more realistic walk pose.

and ta da! More CRITS pls! Keep em' coming

nice progress on the piece jeremy. i see you've managed to make some good changes-- particularly on the skin tones. hmm.. i think the one thing that bothers me right now (and i know it's still a WIP) is the outlines you have going on kind of flattens the form(s). unless that is the intended style then it's fine

I did not followed through your old sketchbook,
but in this one, you got some serious studies going on,
and BIG improvement on only 4 pages. Promising for sure.
This last 'nice ass taking the wolf to a wood walk' is very cute.
Horny is what I am, very horny.
    Keep it up.

    All most there

This is pretty close to what I want, I'm thinking of putting a basket thats fallen over with cup cakes falling out of it in the foreground. That could be cool

First image is at 25% then 50% and finally 100%, I actually made it an A4 so i could make a mad as print for my wall. Maybe other people will want a copy haha. Nah I'm not that good yet. Anyways thanks all for the help so far I would be at this stage with out you.

teapo: I tried to reduce them a bit but I dunno whether I want them there or not. hmm thanks though very good observation.
LtPlissken: Horny you are ha ha, not my intention but I appreciate your arousal all the same.
Rain Walker: Thank you, yeah took me a few sketches to get it right.

awsome chow man very nice one little tiny crit... if lights hitting her from the back she needs a cast shadow in front of her pointing towards the woods if its coming from above we should get a hint of the lightsource coming down through the trees just something to keep in mind for the next one

    Nice job on the chow!
A critique if you would sir! You could have tapered the detail from the butt to her feet a bit and maybe add a bit of colour variation to her skin.
One last thing the dogs legs! Their legs when walking are a bit like us in that the front legs and back legs are opposite, like our arms and legs do. See the end of this movie and all this one
Keep up the good work! I'll have to have a think about entering chow again, looks like fun

P.S. A picture of the poster on the wall when it's done!

There is never a time when you "(do) too much". Fear is the mind killer. Don't let it get to you! That's what makes you progress!

    Fear + Failure = Progression.

There will always be room from improvement, and I you sould have used some of kingkostas's advice. ;]

but this is how we each learn. by our own studies, our own mistakes, our own ideas! keep going and never give up! ;] good luck on the CHOW!

CHOW looks good man! I'll serve up a tiny crit like everyone else, try not to over-render fur. A lot of the fur could've been clumped together instead of each one being drawn out, especially at the tail.
