    UPDATEDGE!!! >>19th SEP 09

    Strassenpenner08 : Thank you.
Cacodaemonia : Very true, thank you for your input
    Lotet : Thanks man.

been a while... have been doodling and such, but never sat down and drew some stuff till yesterday. Spent ages drawing my class mates, they weren't looking and they kept moving, but i have never learnt to draw more ever. In love with ink now! Drawing from life is the coolest thing everz, so when I came to draw to day I could really see how far I have come. helz yez, ps last one is supposed to be a self portrait... i messed up lol, but it looks cool so i posts.
    peace!

    SUP!

    hello again I'm back!

wow its been ages, to long, so i actually haven't done anything since September last year . .
I know i feel terribly lazy about it all. any way felt compelled to draw, cause i had loads of time today. So i didn't know were to start so i just grabbed a random ref from the net and started... and tada. for some reason i got better... even though i did nothing... so I don't get it but what ever. Ha modest

Have you been drawing while you've been gone? If not, your mind has been doing some thinking since this new portrait works very well in my eyes.

Good job on the values and proportions! Time to make more now?

didn't spend much time on this one, had real trouble with the nose and general proportions, guess that's what i get for trying to cover up half the last dudes face. ha well i learned my lesson, this isn't finished but I'm done with it.

Hey mate, there's something going on with the eye that is further away. I do the exact same thing everytime, and I can't understand what it is. If you figure it out, give me a call

Anyways, these greyscale images are a great way to learn, I've been doing some lately too. Keep it up!

!!Peer Project!! - Project #1: Value and Value with Color

Project #1:Value and Value with Color
From Idiot Apathy's Peer Project #1

Basically you want to recreate the color with the same values as your greyscale
which is why the greyscale is next to the comparison. Took me a lot longer than
everyone else but i prevailed. Just showed how much i needed to do this
exercise. Also i got a lot from a post by Briggsy on Spheres. LINK

You're coming along fine Keep at it!

One thing I noticed though, in post #53 - the bottom of the cylinder like object is too "flat" - it needs a more protruding curve, to conform to perspective. I'm about to go out, but if you need me to draw what I mean, I'll be happy to do so. But try to imagine yourself looking at a cylinder from a bird's eye view/top down with some foreshortening. The further away it is, the more "round" the edge of the cylinder gets, whereas the closer it is to your eye, the more flat/elliptical the contour of the cylinder will be.

Hope it's not too confusing, if it is, leave me a message here, or PM me, and I'll get back to you .

Cheers, and happy drawing! (Do some more dammit! )

Lotet: I totally intend to keep pumping stuff out. Its a lot easier when theres exercises to do.
Sean McClain: thanks man, hope to move to the next stage, need to talk with their manager again.
Rabbi Satan: Dude you rock ha ha. I am working on color and light at the moment but defiantly if you could give me some help, even a crappy paint over of form and perspective that would be hot.
k2mountain: I know the hands look so retarded ha ha. I'm doing some more anatomy studies for sure. I was actually pretty good, just something i lost i guess. Need to hit up on some hand studies for sure. And defiantly try these exercises out.
freakmod: will do thanks for the encouragement!
