    Siri's [sfw and not updated enough] Sketchbook (Update: 6.2011)

    THIS. IS. A. SKETCHBOOK.

    Note: I DO draw on paper, not just in Photoshop/Sketchbook Pro/MSpaint/Kidpix. Lack of scanner or camera prevents me from uploading the linework from such, so bear with me until a solution can be remedied (May 2011).

    Holy shit, I actually did something?

    Frankly, I WANT to become something more than just someone who's grasp has far escaped his reach. Good or bad, this is a needed first step and dammit, I USE my CA account. now go back to being good while I go PRACTICE.

    nice hand, although a little wide - as the wrist is a little out of proportion. I'd like to see more posting, as frequency is the key to improvement

    Got a few more things, but it's really more of the same. The next contribution I was hoping to be a bit more...varied.

    You know, with negative space. o3o

    But yes, the hand does look a little off. Even if it's contour (slight mistakes being acceptable) it should make sense. I would hope.

    Anyhow, that's a really long way of saying "Thanks for looking".

    Going to start posting every 5 days, as opposed a couple times every month. Posting earlier would be a bonus.

    Anyway...

    Blood elf 'cleric' (Priest in Plate, or Paladin in cloth. Take your pick). It came out Really WELL despite being a request.

    I'm going to add a post to this later. I hate empty posts.

    Addendum (May 16th, 2011): I REMEmBER WHAT I SAID >8C

    The dog is pretty cool !
    Also figures have good props in general, but those last eyes are given too much brush strike !
    The last two eyes are a lot better

    Keep going !

    You know what would be awesome? Jack Kirby's work ethic. And some data to input.

    @Shad-
    Yeah, I like the "later" ones too. Studies from life, in a mirror, are/am really fun.

    Don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

    @LtPlissken-
    Thanks for the praise. I don't intend to stop despite having gone so slow recently.

    Anyhow, less NSFW stuff, moar fundamentals. And since I missed my last and before last deadline, I tried to show how this one was drawn. If there's anything wrong in the technique, it can be seen.

    Technology is great, yo.

    This is Open Canvas, by the way. Was drawing with a friend and...well, that's one of the best times to draw imo. You gotta have fun.

    Hello!

    Thanks for the visit in my thread. Are you planning on working in the art industry? Do you want to live on your art? You don't seem half bad, but you're not working nearly hard enough.

    Very true. I am quite lazy

    I hit a wall, but also gained a job that helped/helps me fund myself, and I'm quite enjoying it. If I'm allowed, I'm also going to make a new thread that shows some actual diligence.

    As for living on my art? I wouldn't mind it, but it's not a priority, which I like. I've always been an "artistic" sort, I've just been too afraid/too lazy to take the plunge proper (or too something else that involves sadness or business). Art is [damn] important to me, and I don't need a monetary incentive to have it remain so.

    This'll be the last update for this thread, as well. At least, one concerning art, my new sketchbook coming as soon as I can figure out how to show my irl sketcbook (cameras are not helpful).
