Yeah, checking things occasionally in b&w was a tip that's helped me a lot. I try to remind myself to check things in grayscale periodically, just to make sure I'm on the right track with things. (It's helping me learn how to use colors so that I associate the correct colors with their correct values, otherwise I tend to make everything very same-ish value-wise myself if I don't keep myself in check. It's getting better the more aware of it I become, but the b&w check definitely is a quick step to help when I'm feeling stuck.)

I'm digging the CHoW entry so far. Definitely curious to see how that turns out!

I like the self-portrait, too. I think it came out really nice. ^_^

    Thanks m8

Here's my initial sketch for IOW. I'll make the armor more unique, I'm just trying to get the composition and mood right now. The idea is that she defeated her opponent, but is walking away with a fatal wound.

I think the IOW is working good so far. The pose definitely suggests a figure that's kind of hunching, either from being wounded or simply being exhausted. (Or both in this case, I'm sure.) I like the colors so far, too.

The IOW is looking pretty good, the armor and the flame in the back makes it look very much like dark souls.

oh your work is really good! I remember seeing the falling angel picture, I like it a lot. You have a very good way of rendering.
I also love the little cartoon business man, he's really cute haha.
I think you did a great job on the Marvel pages btw.

Nice update! (Aside from that one leg on the woman, but you're excused for that one because everything else looks really good. XD) How long did you have with the live model?

I'm liking the knight piece, but I feel like you're maybe losing a storytelling opportunity by covering her face with the helmet? I'd maybe have the visor flipped up so that we can see she's really exhausted and banged up. I think you could really sell the fact that she's mortally wounded if we could see her expression. (Right now her pose definitely suggests that she's totally exhausted and maybe hurt, which is great, but I think you could kick the story of the image up a notch by showing how much pain she's experiencing with her expression.)

Sweet stuff, really shows your knowledge of anatomy and lighting. Really like the colors on the latest SP you posted too. Keep up all this hard work, it's paying off.

Great updates, especially the studies. Keep them coming bud. As for the Marvel colouring test. I feel that it follows too close with the accepted standard...not that that is bad...but it feels generic. Anyways Goodluck with that.

thanks guys yeah brashen i can see what you mean... maybe i'll have another go at it sometime.

here's a character i'm working on, definitely need to make some changes so the design is less boring. needs a different pose altogether actually. but! sketchbooks are for both good and bad.

Haha, the kid's bloody awesome, though the eyes are really really wide apart >

The drawings are nice too. A critique though, would be that maybe you can define the pelvis form a bit more? Just draw an eclipse or box would be sufficient to define the perspective of it.
