Hi i will be a college freshman soon
and i am totally confused on where to go.
These are the schools that i chose to apply to and got accepted into:
Ringling college of art
Columbus College of art and design
academy of art
I would like to major in illustration but i am also very interested in fine arts, and cartooning. I am generally a really shy student....that will be a problem *kicks self* and i most definitely can work hard and try my hardest. I want to be challenged and i want to learn as much as possible about art because i am very passionate about art, in any form it is. tuition cost is definitely not a problem and i want the best education i can get my hands on. I am interested in learning both old stuff (art theories, history, etc) and modern stuff (commercial, etc).
note: sorry for the funky/inconsisten english, english is not my first language.
Check the threads- I think there's lots of info and comments on many of the schools you mention...and while you're at it, check us out too!
I can only say little about Ringling and AAU since those are the only schools on your list I applied to. Both schools have good illustration programs. You should call your admissions advisors from these schools and tell them the interests you stated above and see what they have to say about it. Try talk to students and/or alumni from the schools as well if you can.
Don't feel like choosing the wrong school will be the end of the world. With that list, I don't think there really is a wrong choice, they're all great schools. Look up their surrounding areas and see if it's a place you'd like to spend the next four years.
Hah, man it's gotta be nice not to have to worry about tuition costs.
thanks for the reply. I'll give them a call but sadly i cant to the students from that school cause im an international student from abroad.
thanks, ur advice calmed me down a bit. thats what my counselor said too. i totally forgot about the place, that is definitely a big factor and helpful advice.
about tuition costs: yeah it is nice but i still feel guilty and pressured. My parents fully support me, financially and emotionally, but im the one making a mountain out of a molehill. I have opportunities but im too afraid sometimes to take em.
