    hey mate,
Had a look through. It was interesting to watch you combine the studies with the painting. It may help you to use less lines to define the form, Well I know I'm not great but I find it can confuse me when i use too many.
I'm wondering a bit more about what your goals are for your work and what areas your interested in.

It can get confusing with so many lines... I think I end up with so many because I'm working things out and I don't like to erase. Maybe I'll try using multiple layers so I can work something out on one and lighten that layer, then do a clarified version on top nice and dark...

Goals... I don't actually know beyond wanting to improve. I'm interested in almost everything. I've worked more on figures than anything else so I guess that's probably what I'm most interested in.

Another quick landscape - Still working my way through some of the stuff in Jack Hamm's Drawing Scenery: Landscapes and Seascapes

Just watched the streaming composition class and realized that I hadn't done any thumbnails for the ongoing piece - I'm thinking of starting over, so I did some thumbnails.

Granted I'm not sure about starting over, but I think I'll end up with a better piece if I do...

Yeah, I still need to work on values... These all seem much improved by upping the contrast. Anyway, here's a quick workup of values from one of those thumbnails:

Another speed sketch - this was around 13 minutes. Looks like I still need to push my values more...

Trying to figure out both values and the caster's face for the ongoing piece. I think the values are much improved over my previous attempts...

Back to the ongoing piece... Changed a bunch of stuff: Darkened the cliffs in the background and blurred the background, moved all the figures up so I had room to add the pinned guy's hand reaching for something, changed the pose for the fighter, added a second magic blast. Next up: more lighting, more contrast, more cohesive values.

A portrait so I could figure laughter out a bit (from reference) and some exploration sketches for scenes in the sequential.

Incedently - Thanks for the compliment miycko. I'm not sure how to take those since there's so much I think needs to improve...

You know i went through every page in this sketchbook because i loved the progression on that cliff edge battle.
The bottom right woman is well realized although i think your other pose of the woman falling off was more dynamic and interesting.
    Keep up the good stuff!

Thanks! I think the relatively boring pose was me thinking too much about accurate anatomy and not enough about dynamic poses. I've sketched some quick alternative poses that are closer to the old falling pose. I'll probably use one of them...

More pose sketches, one from reference. It's really hard to find reference of someone falling backwards...

Still trying to figure out those poses... reference really helps. I know I've said this before, but this time I AM going to get a hold of a camera and make some reference.

Refined the mage and moved the fighter a bit - I'm not satisfied with the fighter pose again.

Thanks! If anyone has any suggestions as to what I should be working on let me know. Especially if you also have suggestions for HOW to work on whatever it is.

A quick monkey-mouth from reference for a speed group on another forum. This was about 10 minutes.
