Its' free and it takes less than 10 seconds!
I'm starting to get things figured out... This stage seems to be taking longer for some reason.
More of the same... I think I'm beginning to get an idea of what's missing but I haven't figured out how to fix it yet.
Playing with an alternate pose idea
More ideas for posing those two figures.
still playing with those poses...
Played with poses a little bit more then placed them.
More messing with the poses. I'm having a lot of trouble with this and I'm not sure why... Oh well.
More pose work. I think I need to just decide and get it over with...
Cool work here, I think the best pose if the far left at post 56
That pose (far left post 56) is more grounded in reality than most of the ones I've tried but I don't think it's the right emotion (now that I've got some idea what that emotion might be...)
I'm thinking a sort of last minute desperate magical attack now. Some sketches trying to get that across:
I really the girl in that painting. Keep it up with finding the right pose
My website : CHOO3D
Not quite sure about the overall pose of the magic wielding figure, but I would imagine that in the scenario she would be looking her adversary in the eye. Regarding the foreground kneeling figure it seems to me that in that position she would not be looking at the struggle behind her, maybe if she was twisted around a little more (though I can recognise the neffort you put into it so far and may not want to change it), or maybe she's not looking at them at all!
Anyway that's just my opinion, take from it what you want, or discard it completely!!
Nice sketchbook and keep up the good work!!
I was thinking the figure in the foreground was distracted by what was happening but not actually looking at it... I agree about the magic user looking more directly at the fighter, at least for now.
More work on those two figures:
More pose stuff. Trying to give the sense that the magic user is pulling the fighter off balance by trying to run while he is holding her arm.
Right now it mostly looks like he's reaching out to grab her rather than being pulled.
Trying to get that off balance pose still... Also an idea for the Seattle Sketch Group Thunderdome.
Still figuring out that pose - I have a lot of trouble drawing figures off balance. Also some stuff for a different idea for that thunderdome.
I think I've got the pose now...
Some work on the ongoing piece
I keep getting caught up in things and doing the details before I should (Thanks for the heads up Fire Moth) something to work on...
Also more sketches for that thunderdome
Not much time today...
Some silhouettes for the Seattle Sketch Group Thunderdome
I did a little more on that piece today but I'm not very satisfied with it. That's what I get for painting tired...
I'll probably end up redoing a lot of that session tomorrow. Now sleep!
Redid a lot of what I did yesterday
It's really interesting to see the evolution of you picture and the different steps and sketches!
But maybe you shouldn't focus too much on one piece ^^
On the other hand it gets better every post.
I think maybe I should distract myself with something else for a while so I don't get tunnel vision...
Working out a character:
A bit more on the ongoing piece
I'm starting to wonder about the scale of the fighting figures.
An idea for a character. The portrait is loosely based on reference.
More work on that character
Edit: got the attachment uploaded...
Sketches for a few characters.

More character design sketches - This time a strategist, a cybernetics researcher, and a robotics researcher. I need to figure out a better workflow for this kind of thing...
