    Yummy

One small thing I noticed in your sci fi interior was a tangent with he little dude on the lower level and the railing. The railing goes right over top of what ever he is carrying. As well he's exact same value as the railing. I think it flattens it more then gives it space. goes right over top of what ever he is carrying.

Life drawings are looking really solid man. I like the first 5 min and the 15 minute one the most (good colours on it).

The space interior looks cool (waaaay different scale from what I imagined before the people and railings were put in).

Keep it up, and good luck with those two commissions!

You're doing great man! Those quick figure paintings are really nice, definitely need to get
on those myself. I'm always motivated when I visit this sketchbook; you're really keeping
up the pace and doing great. Nothing to really critique; just keep practicing your ass off!

Awesome, keep up the environments For reference I find this to be a good site, I think doing some architecture studies will help with your sci-fi interiors. http://www.tumblr.com/explore

mad improvements with the SP bro-- i think one of your best yet i see you're understanding more of the head structure as the forehead in these latest portraits aren't as skewed/squish from earlier ones you've done!

perspective is looking great too dig the beard (LOL?)

youre making good improvements dude. those last few still lifes look great i still think it would help to do some longer studies as well.

something i had problems with and another thing to watch out for is washed out colors. ill use your sp as an example. see how the neck, forehead and area under the lip seem really dull and dont really "fit" in with the rest of the image? its usually cuz that color is either undersaturated, too light, or both. i did a quick paintover to show you what i mean. hope it helps

*edit: ignore the random dot on your lip haha*

no offense lancer but I think I like Ryans original a bit better, in his, the lights are warm and the shadows are cool, some more saturation in the colors he already laid down would be enough, maybe up it by like 5 or 10%. I still think you should slow down ryan, you are posting a lot of work but when was the last time you sat down and painted on something for more then 8 hours? keep it up dude.

I think the band WIP needs a bit more order to it, I think there's way to much stuff going on in your sketch. Google "rock band photo" or something to maybe grab some reference. It's alot more pleasing to look at if the shapes make a simple movement for the eye to follow. I think it's mostly the really light shapes on the bottom that are throwing me off. I might be more pleasing if none of the faces were side views. They don't really feel like they belong.

better proportions with the SP this time, cool.
though the line at edge of mouth is a bit harsh. look for the shapes there- maybe check out loomis and study the planes of the mouth a bit more.

i agree, Metal Fingers, i probably went a little too saturated but i was just trying to illustrate what i was saying. no offense meant or taken. either way ryan, just keep an eye your colors.

    good stuff

nudes are coming along, and the space station interiors look awesome! SP looks great, nice colours and lighting, I feel bad cause I though the original sketch was a stylized version of Meg from family guy, cause you did Chris... I apologise profusely

That Yakuza piece is looking imposing already! I think it would be cool to have them wrap around him a bit more, maybe some more flowing shapes? Looking forward to seeing this one done!
Thanks for the screenshot, hahah. That session was fun. I drew some more dragon heads after that.
