If you could have any super power (coming from the standpoint of an artist) what would it be?
I think time-control would be pretty sweet. Then, whenever I saw something that I wanted to draw, I could just freeze time and whip out a sketchbook and draw it. If there was someone interesting that I wanted to draw, I could go up real close to them and they wouldn't notice. Also, if you wanted reference for something that is hard to get ref for (ie, falling, fire, water, fast motions, etc) you could get it more easily.
Also, "painting the future" like Isaac Mendez from Heroes would be pretty cool too. Except... I don't know why I would want that power.
Maybe something like photographic memory or Sharingan, where you could copy stuff would be useful too.
So, what would your super power be?
Never having to sleep, always have time to get work done.
Muscle mimicry, drawing like a pro just by watching a pro draw.
Super fast perception/muscle movement, working at super speed.
Super communication skills, being able to let everyone know your ideas in perfect clarity every time.
"Astronomy offers an aesthetic indulgence not duplicated in any other field. This is not an academic or hypothetical attraction and should require no apologies, for the beauty to be found in the skies has been universally appreciated for unrecorded centuries."
Omnipotence is obviously my #1 answer, although I'm assuming you won't accept that one.
Time control would probably be my #2, for all of the reasons listed above.
Infinite telekinetic control over matter would be #3. I'm talking Dr. Manhattan-type powers. That would basically give me the ability to sculpt anything on any scale out of anything else.
Fourth is mind control and fifth is control over the weather. I'm sure those would both be very useful in many situations.
healing! just like wolverine!
Light control/ability to create illusions.
Having imaginary creatures, models etc appear of any size and character that will pose for you in any wich way. They must be stable and not disturb my mental condition. I would most prolly abuse it.
Anyone ever read the story of Faustus?

Having the ability to make what I draw come to life or appear in real life. Like if I drawed a nice steak-dinner, it appears on the table infront of me. And if I draw a 60 foot dinosaur rapaging the city, it comes to life and does that. (but then my magical power also have to fix all drawing-flaws I make )
"I wish to paint in such a manner as if I were photographing dreams" - Zdzislaw BeksinskiMy Happy Little Sketchbook, please check it out and help me get better!
Hmm, the first thing that came to mind was having a full internal image library so I could draw anything from memory. xD
Will update sometime soon.
Actually immortality is a good power for procrastinators. "eh, I have eternity, I'll just do it tomorrow."
For me it would be the ability to live past 500 and jumping.
Targetable mind reading that I could turn on and off. Don't understand what the DA wants? Read his mind. Not sure how much a client is ready to pay? Read his mind. Why is that girl staring at me? Read her mind, oh sheesh I got a booger sticking out.
the ability to actualy be able to draw
Fireballs. Just because.
the power to temporary clone myself.
One goes to work.
One stays at home and illustrates.
One stays at home and writes, finishing those novels.
One goes and explores sculpting, painting, etc.
One goes off and joins a gym, shaping this OH so MANLY body into a shape other than slightly round.
After a year or so, they all come back to me, be absorbed into the main body.

http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=192127"Everything must serve the idea. The means used to convey the idea should be the simplest and clear. Just what is required. No extra images. To me this is a universal principle of art. Saying as much as possible with a minimum of means."-John Huston, Director
The power to make a sexy self portrait so that girls will love me~
the ability to see all spectrums of light.
Im sure there would be some absolutely beautiful images that humans are never going to be able to see. Can you just imagine viewing a cities radio waves or being able to see the infared light at a club with absolute clarity? I think it would be surreal.
Freeze what I see NOW
I think I might be able to help with some suggestions on the second one.
Make a self portrait of being in the shower with the door open.
Some steam here and there to create the idea of heat.
Your look should be kinda incidental and not intentionally alluring and also as comfortable as can be busy washing your back with one of those back scrubbers. Have plenty of wash products and stuff stand around.
If you really want to push it, put the shower outside in the middle of a yard covered with snow. None of these should imply ideas, the effective tool here is to create the space where it's the only thoughts that havn't passed the mind yet. For example, it looks warm in there, and there's space for two, A good wash the way he does it is just what I need, Hmmm...? He looks real comfortable even though he is aware of my presence but I find him on no way imposing or alluring What's up with that???? The only touch of implication might be carried in washing his back something to the rythm of: "I will wash your back" but leave it rather innocently. Leave the juice to the viewer.
The snow, might be to painfully cold, it might be better to just have cold darker bluish room leading towards the open door of the shower that is warm colored. You can push the "home" feeling in the room with symbols like textile patterns that looks like they belong on pajamas or maybe a whinnie the pooh, somewhere. The snow is too forced, being comfortable makes you more open to explore what's going on.
You can push the male features into peacocking, in the shower you are left with posture and muscle, don't overdo it as to make it look intentional, these should be noticed not shoved in the viewers face. Perhaps your leg posture could be wide or one of your calves could be raised.(Think goat or horse not sensual snake sensual snake is usually a female attribute and don't always push the bottons for the avg female, it's better to go for natural hormonal male toning and peackock attributes, the stuff nature gave you that makes you pretty as a man)
Other than that, do a self portrait of you at a buffet desert table loading some stuffs onto your desert plate, your look should also be kinda incidental.(How to pose like you are acting stupid)
Same things apply. Perhaps if you are attractively(Neatly) dressed and comfortable. Leaving thoughts perhaps like, Whould he dish me up a plate? or What a dish.
I have done some contemplation on lately, why the brad pit's and the tom cruize's etc? It's all peacocking, Tom cruize looks like a gruff billy goat with a touch of lion, these are not sensual, If he does a sensual thingy it would be showing off his abs but he is slender built so that's the only feature that would come of snakey. Tom Cruize; it all started long ago with navy, aviary and sailors outfits, It's about looking tidy and clean cut.
It could even go as far as zorro and antonio banderas, The zorro is a far stretch for some, but it's the same and antonio looks like a black stallion. Bodily hair should make you look goaty, liony, beary, horsey but never trollish or cob webbish. If it's trollish, shave and go for cleanlyness rather. For some like me that would mean I would need to shave my legs, but lucky I'm not a male model.
More modern stuffs might go into being hippyish, pants hanging around your but with your undies sticking out etc, but you will notice the pictures have a hidden secret, magazines and models and actors, these looks as sloppy as they are, are neat, clean cut and spotless.
