    Nice hero portraits you got here I like all the captain america's, the expressions are right.

    Are you colouring with colour-pensils and markers? Very traditional

    @Blazef,
    Thank you, I enjoy your work as well.
    @Absorber,
    Hey, thanks, glad you like them. The Captain America pics are all from imagination. When deciding how I want a character to look, I do not want to limit or influence my ideas by using reference. The portraits, Batman, Xmen, are done in gouache, looking at photo ref but also making stuff up. Some are done using watercolor pencils, used either wet or left dry for the texture. There is acrylic here and I love to use Copics for grey tonal values. I never seem to have time to use oils, since deadlines usually do not allow for dry time. Although I want to start working with a tablet, I doubt I will ever completely give up my brushes.

    Great stuff here, Ed Diggin' the Elvis pic, and the black and white lady with the lace is really cool. The middle characters' likenesses in the X-men pic are a little weak, maybe... other than that, great work

    @AmontiladoAg,
    I really appreciate that. I think you are being kind by calling that likeness weak, I am not happy with it either, so I am going to remedy the situation this weekend. :]Merci.
    Here are some sketches to look at with lots of beasties and who knows what else.

    This first on is acrylic on leather. I had to create a painting process to make it happen. I did it for my band mate and told him to have it professionally treated and sealed. Since he did not, it now has scrapes, and paint scratches from riding motorcycles and playing music. The "eye" is the only area unaffected and it is pristine. Weird. Second one is an Oni tattoo design I did.

    I'd love to see you do some more things with scales. You're better at doing scale-type patterns than most artists out there.

    @'ej,
    I appreciate the encouragement and I have really been itching to break out the oils lately. It was the first medium I learned to paint in and I feel it is where I do my best work.
    Time to hit up the art supply store.
    @Dahami,
    Thank you, that is kind of you. Here is a dragon to check out.
    @Enydimon,
    Thanks for saying so, I feel faces are my favorite things to draw.

    So, here is a dragon, a Yakuza named "I am trouble" and a 10 minute sketch of Logan which I did to amuse myself on break. I used photo reference, but intentionally made him look different, to be more in keeping with how I see the character. Like with a broken nose.

    These are a couple of tattoo designs from my flash book. I think Bettie Page was lovely.

    Warm up sketches du jour, 60 seconds to 10 minutes.
    I do not always have time to do these, yet it always makes a difference in my day.

    Wicked sketchbook! Your illustrations are completely "punch in the face" intense. I like how you color skin, subtle and vivid, especially in the Electra piece. Looking forward to more.
