thePoet - Of Myth and Musings

NEW CONTENT BOTTOM OF PAGE 2!

Reverie inspired me to open a sketchbook and I'm much more likely to update here than post single images about the forum. I hadn't painted any environments in a long time but after watching some of the guys at Reverie I had to play with some of the techniques I saw.

I was still getting my head around some of the approaches and new brushes on the first one so it's a bit glitchy.

Ice caves have the most amazing light qualities. The environment itself is translucent, can give off light and forms in the most amazing shapes.

    Attachment 638640
Yeah, I was just having fun with this. A derelict city in a cavern that's being overgrown and is now home only to a handful of wanderers; just plain fun.

I was wanting to do a simple portrait after my more complex Naiads piece. The model is fictional and borrows her name from Les Miserable.

Some sketches from life done at Reverie.

    Thanks for stopping by, Cheers

Cool work man, good call on making a sketchbook!
Loving how you did the colours in the last 2 environments, would love to see more pieces like those. Keep up the good work!

    Oooooo!

These look wonderful. Colette especially... wow. Shame she's fictional, right?

    Proceed.

I just uploaded my Magistrates piece to the finished section and thought I'd make a piece showing the progression. I usually find them interesting so maybe you will too. Cheers

Love the last few sketches, looking forward to seeing more! Hope you haven't been waylaid by a bunch of non-art stuff like I was.

The bearded dude is awesome, I'd love to see you do a full render of that one.
