Exclamation Open Artistic Anatomy/ÉcorchÉ Lecture - Monday, April 6th

OPEN ARTISTIC ANATOMY/ÉCORCHÉ LECTURE - MONDAY, APRIL 6TH

*Écorché (ekorshay): French, meaning 'to flay'

My name is Andrew Ameral. I was the Director of Anatomy at the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy were I taught Anatomy, Écorché, Painting, and Drawing for six years. I am sending out an open invitation to any Bay Area artist/art student who might be interested in checking out my anatomy lecture/class this coming Monday night (April 6th) beginning at 5:30 pm. The great thing about this night is it's free!

This is my 3rd lecture of 7 on the skeleton focusing on the pelvis. There will be a model present and an opportunity to draw. Please be sure to bring something to draw with (paper, pencils, etc) and something to sit on just in case I run out of chairs. Class goes till 8:30pm.

At the end of class, I'll be signing up anyone who would like to join my Écorché class - there is still plenty of room and it's not too late. I'll also be ready to sign up those interested in just attending the Monday lecture night. Fees will be discussed.

The address to the studio is 4432 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland.

This course is excellent for painters, sculptors, illustrators, and digital artists who are passionate for the human form and looking to improve their understanding. This course is open to all advanced and beginning students who want to improve.

    Hi Andrew

I got your email about this, and would really love to attend. The only issue is that you're in Oakland and it's at 5.30, which makes it pretty difficult to get to for folks working in the city.

If anyone is able to attend though, I've heard awesome things about this kind of training and would urge you to check it out.

Hi there Andrew, it's nice to see you on these forums.
I'm a student at Florence Academy of Art's atelier in Gothenburg. And I wish I had a would ahve had a chance to take your anatomy classes. Well one can only hope that you have your way past Gothenburg again.

For everyone who got a chance to take Andrews class, do it. I've seen and heard a lot about the anatomy program he held in Florence. And the progress he helped some of the students do is amazing. So if you get the chance to do this, take it. It's worth the money.

Cheers Andy and good luck with your studio.

I went to the free class and Andy's level of knowledge is scary, quite frankly. But he also seemed to lay out the most important points really clearly and in a way which you can tell is a well-rehearsed formula.

The course is six months and I can't commit to it right now (tax bill, new job) but I'm hoping to do the winter term instead. If anyone else in the bay is interested, I'd have to recommend it from what I saw - be great to see some others there, too.

Oh I think he said he's keen to start a little later to get the SF kids to make it as well.
