Just a placeholder for now...stormeffex is having computer troubles and has left the subject up to me.
'Course I have no ideas other than something like:
Post-Apocalyptic scene (yes this means backgrounds), humans, robots and/or cyborgs. Something like that...
I'm open to suggestions from others too. I'd like to stretch the limits for both of us!
alrighty....here's my idea brianl.
time period: post-apocalyptic
story: two generals from different ends of the earth are facing each other to end the power struggle that has lasted nearly 100 years. this climatic battle will take place on an uncharted land mass away from the remaining human cities.
challenge: design your general and your army. i.e. foot soldiers, cavalry, air support, etc. army units could consist of monsters (mutated or whatnot). there is a limit to how much firearms you can use because the skill of making firearms has been lost. catapults and such could be brought in as well. ancient weapons of war are dominant in this time.
any questions, just ask. feel free to tweak it if you want.
okay, while we were waiting I sent a request to the thunderdome admin and here's what came back:
the inventors secret
theme: post apocolyptic
must illustrate both the inventor and the invention with a minimum of suggested idea and content for the background which will suggest time and place.
who is he?
who is she?
what is it?
what is he hiding from what is left of the world?
what will he or she do with it once it is finished?
many questions...the answers are up to you.
Now, granted I'm still kinda half-asleep this morning, my problem is I like em both!
Stormeffex, whatcha think?
oh, that sounds interesting as well. how about a combination of both. the "generals" are searching for this inventor and the invention that will turn the tide of war. except that they don't know who or what the invention is. so they have to send out their top spy to find info on it. we can design a spy and send it forth into the thunderdome world to find it. this will give us the opportunity to develop various landscapes of the world. what do you think?
Sorry 'bout the long time to reply...
I was thinking bout this last option...but the more I think about the less clear it is in my mind.
How does this tie in to a single image for a final? Maybe I'm trying to think too much like a story-teller...
Awaiting your thought
Merry Xmas! (a little in advance)
this is starting to get complicated. i don't want something that will take us forever to do. you pick, it'll be easier this way. we need to start soon too. so just pick something and we'll just wing it.
Okay...all that deliberating done, I think it'd be best if we just stuck to what the thunderdone admin sent: The Inventor.
I'd love to do the army and was really swingin' that way. I was thinking something along the lines of a pic of the battle line of the army, or a least a part of it. Maybe later when we have more time =)
So officially, it's the Inventor and what she/he is inventing. Include some sort of background. The lab, or just where ever the inventor is letting his creation loose. Make sure that we can suggest a time period with the whole illustration. Media, etc. is open to whatever you feel most comfortable with.
Let's Rock!
alright....let's rock. is there a deadline?
Only deadline I know of is the one thats stated in the main rules thread.
I'm going to try to post some sketches this weekend...but assuming I miss that, there'll be something here Monday :fight:CONTEST DEADLINE IS FEB 10th 2004. All final submissions must be submitted in the Thunderdome Seven FINAL IMAGES thread which will appear very soon.
here's a first thought.
Tho I'm definitely going to keep trying 'til I get something I really like
pretty nice brian. here's what i came up with. i'll start with the sketches first.
here's my one of my final images:
Stormeffex...those are looking reeaaall good!:chug:
Damn, now I really hafta work hard:p
ahhh...the deadline is fast approaching. oh well. i didn't have much time to do anything else except for two finals. here is the second one. i'll post these in the finished section as well. so just waiting for you brian.
this is dr. immortal. he has created a self-sustaining chamber for his head. enabling him to become "immortal" in a sense. this chamber is able to insert itself into "host" bodies when the head is decapitated, giving the good dr. control of the body. as one "host" dies, the dr. finds a new host so that he can be eternal.
hope you like!
Just gotta get things in gear here...been plagued with viruses.
Stormeffex that's beautiful!!!
Promise I'll post something soon...
