    lukart Thanks alot!
    zweiDee Thanks!
huhucg Thank you for checking out my stuff.
Holland Thanks alot! will try to keep it that way.
jatherip Hah thank you, was sort of inspired from how the stones looks like here in sweden but just made the shape more crazy, and added some random animal statue heads. might take a while until I do some characters, busy actually learning how to do environments and watercolor.
Jaytea Thanks alot, im glad u like it
Jackwhat Thank you, yeh it sort of makes scenes, I been looking at alot of conceptart latetly too, and im suprised by how low the quality of the art is at some cases, but seems to wary alot from game to game, but I guess guildwars just care alot about their art outside the "game" itself, there is ofcourse many more, like blizzard, but well they can afford it, and they are sort of know for taking their time with stuff.

As for the masterstudies, I only done two Thomas Moran copies so far, but been looking at alot of old master art in general without copying them, but instead tried to directly apply stuff from them when I was painting personal paintings.

Here is some of my very long list of stuff I like, only landscape artists I think.

And yeh alot of the common ones, like sargent.
Hideyoshi Thanks alot Hideyoshi!, I love you stuff too, they are sooo great , yeh thanks for pointing it out! I will work on it for sure!.
    Delmar Thanks alot!
Rushlord Oh Thanks alot, im glad u think so! but I still got a long way to go
Creusa Oh im glad I can be to inspiration! Thanks alot =)
Pixie Trick Thanks Pixie, yeh I was in process of reuploading all the images, was just adjusting the sharpness of the pictures =).

Yeh , I will have to study it more for sure!
Glad u like it, it was done for a landscape contest
    jeremyg0rd0n Thanks alot!
OmertA Oh thanks, im glad I could give u some inspiration!
    Shadow Stalker Thanks alot!
kyubisharingan Yo Kyubi nice to see you here!, heh yeh, well I got so many computer issues at the moment, the mouse randomly stop working and shit

Masterstudies are when you study pictures of old master work, the reason its good to study them its because their art have survived the test of time, which means they are still popular today and didnt get forgotten over the years, thats why it can be abit of a trap to copy artists alive today as its all contemporary. Also the old masters sort of knew what they were doing and did their job pretty darn well.

however there is also a great deal to learn from todays artists, like how they use photos in their painting, or add texture to a picture, so I wouldn't judge whats right or wrong, if you learn something, thats all you can ask for.

As for doing mastercopies, you go and find an old masters you like and copy a few pictures you like as close as you can, they say you shoudn't be able to tell the different between the original and the copy.

but im sure you can learn alot from just looking at the pictures and try to remember stuff from the paintings, or doing quicker studies of the paintings until you feel like u have learned the things you want from it, without spending hours refinding down to the pixel.

They can be done in their original medium, oil, watercolor etc, but I think alot of people do them digitally, but remember to not colorpick or directly trace when doing it, because else you lose a big part of the exercise, it will help to refind your eye to see more correct colors, value and such, practicing getting stuff looking at the right place, by looking and looking and than look even harder.

anyways the idea is to learn stuff from the painting aswell, so you have to ask yourself questions and try to find the answer in the paintings, and try to apply it to your own art. example,
Were do he put the textures? in the light, midtone or shadow? most of the time the artist choose hes gonna put the details in one of those, because thats sort of the eye works, if u look into the light the shadows often become soft and texture get sort of lost.

But anway im sure there is more information about it out there, on this site and on others , here is an very old thread by Jason Manley
    http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2868

Arne Meyer Thanks alot, glad u like it, mixup happens!
SnobbyOo Thank you!, heh yeh busy with various of stuff like personal work and life comissions, contests and contributrions.

Yeh I added some sharpness to most of them, thanks for pointing it out!, they are suppose to be viewed quite small, but ofcourse depending on monitor and browser they can become large and blurry, also I guess depends on the age of monitor, but yeh they were sort of blurry in the first place so it might be a combination there.
brubaker Thanks alot and welcome!, yeh I never liked painterly stuff ether some years ago, tho I didnt wanna be an artist at that time, but yeh thats whats fun, finding new things to like.

Phew im such a slow writer, took 1 hours 30 minutes:7

awesome stuff. i think when you sharpen your images you should go back and tone down some areas so that everything isn't in super focus, just a personal pref tho.

Hi everyone, I felt like it was time to do a last update before 2010, various of paintings, some more finished, some unfinished.

Some of them are alright and some not that mutch..

They all could need some adjustments changes to be fair, but yeh I post them anyway for you all to see!.

I also recently bought myself a new mouse and I also had a brand new keyboard I bought a few years ago, I tried it once but decided not to use it, logitech's G15, but now I feel like it would be a good time to get used to it.

But as expected, it really makes painting feels wierd, cuz I keep pressing the wrong buttons all the time! frustrating to no end.

And yeh sorry no characters:7 well been doing some small anatomy studies with pen and paper, but it goes so slowly, I just dont seem to have mutch intresst in them.

tho there is far more buildings in this update than before, im still working alot on them and perspective,I belive it was about a year ago started doing environments along with my first building I ever painted, in a EoW:d.

Sorry if it is too many pictures

    Hey!
First time poking around your SB and I must say I love the way you do colors.
By looking at your stuff I see you like to work fast, and thats ok I guess. Has good and bad sides like everything.
However the speed pushes you to use too much brushes and textures, that give the whole piece some artificial feeling to it. Some of those pictures would look awesome if there was more "human" hand in it, instead of ready made patterns with vary effect on em. Most of your recent pics show you try dropping the amout of brushes down a bit, and thats good intuition.

    Hope that ll help u

    best regards!

Hey, UnidColor, I had another look trough your sketchbook: it is sooo awesome! The way you use light makes some of your works look real epic! So your sketchbook is both frustrating and motivating for me . Keep up the great work!

Fucking dope update dude and thanks for taking the time to reply earlier - shame i fell off the internet and the links dont seem to work. Although i did google the one guy you name dropped and that was most faptastic.

If you do have any other names to suggest ill go and check those out post haste!

The pictures that really stand out to me are ones that look almost spot lit or as if the clouds have broken around a particular area... they just shine and ooze so much more to me!

Hope you had a good xmas and rock out in the new year!

Most of them look great, but some (like the lava pools) look more abstract or less finished than the others.

Delightful landscapes that makes me all warm and happy inside - thanks for posting these and for the reference and discussion on page 9 (253).

I'll be around as long as you keep producing these crème de la crème pieces, not to mention what I'll do as you progress? ah this could prove harmful for my person
