Ah I like the playful proportions in that last piece. Keep going with the figure drawings - they're good in terms of proportion but try to pay more attention to anatomical notes, like the indications of muscle and points of stress. It helps to study anatomy books alongside working at figure drawing. I'd recommend another medium though, charcoal or conte crayon - pencil is far too slow to be worrying about core shadows.

nonie - thanks heaps, when i went to life drawing today, i tried to keep a mental note of 'points of stress,' on the model, i'm not so sure if it worked or not. I'll post up at some point....later.

I like your style, the graffitti stuff is different and it's the kinda thing I'd love to be able to do!
I can only echo what others have already said; you've got a cool style, just build some foundations with anatomy, lighting knowledge etc.

giorge - Thanks, its actually a broken coffee table, which i might reconstruct into some kind of useable coffee table again at some point in the near or later future.
Janos & ButterBunny - Thanks, yeah i definitely need to get out and do more studies, at the moment i seem to only be able to find the motivation to go to life drawing, but soon i'll force my mind to get off its arse and read some anatomy books and study some light shit.
More 2-5 minute studies, mostly 2 minutes. Criticise once again.

Glad to see you're doing some life studies as well as persuing a style, the pieces in your first post are pretty cool but do lack a certain anatomical knowledge that would really make them shine, know what I mean? Keep posting mate, I can see some pretty awesome stuff cropping up in this sb the way you're going
June 12th, 2009 #24
Cotletan - Thankyou, as for putting it around the city, i might not have printed it out but i've done something along those lines

WoW, your style is really impresive, and you definetly have some cool ideas jumping out of your head into the paper. Keep doing those figures, and try to incorporate what you learn to your personal stuff. Great SB.
