Wacom Graphics Tablet won't work on new iMac

Hi, I just bought an iMac (first one yay) but my 9X12 graphics tablet won't work, i've installed the drivers (it works great on XP...
it has a serial port and i have the port to plug and play adaptor.

i'm already into this new machine for SO MUCH i'd like to not have to buy a new tablet too.
i have a little pad that works but i want my big one WAAAHHH!!!

    any clues on fixes?

605-3 seemed to be the right driver... maybe i was wrong?

What version of OSX are you running? I'm about to buy a tablet and it would suck if it didn't work on my iMac.

says 10.5.6 OSX it's about a week old lol.

i've found online that A LOT of people tend to have this problem: the older tablets not working on new Macs. sigh.
i miss the days of of duct tape.

usually the drivers for tablets should show up in the system preferences, is it an issue where the drivers are not recognizing the tablet, but they installed okay? or is it something where not even the drivers install properly?

Another thing to double check, especially if you're new to OS X, is that there are often times drivers or programs that are made for 10.4 and up and then a newer version for 10.5 and up. Do make sure you've got the 10.5 drivers over anything that might be potentially older.
