I'm rather new to the whole process of digital painting, and could use some advice and criticism on this particular piece. Thanks in advance. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
No part of this is really finished. I've still got to add highlights and such to the mid-ground, and the foreground rock only has a base color on it. All the shadows and such have been laid in, also, on the figure.
The face is glum and not very inspiring. Probably a result of walking in those huge heavy boots. Looks like a male figure but not sure if that's intentional. Not sure what's going on with those bits in the backgrond, and the samy, dense texture over everything is a bit much.
Looks good to me. What kind of feedback were you looking for? If it were me, I'd a) either add some drama to the background or crop the image tighter to the figure and b) Find some reference to help refine the figure's pose a bit. (right now her left leg is about six inches longer than her right one.)
