    Exporting Painter X-11 Brushes?

Hi, firstly, thanks for checking out the thread.

My query is, or rather problem, my brushes do not export properly into the Painter directories (both X and 11 versions) just curious as to whether other users have a similar problem. I save the variant, per usual, and if my facts are straight the brush and it's associated data should export to the given brush directory (C:/program files/corel/painter 11/brushes/oils [for example])

I have searched and searched, and for the life of me I cannot find a solution, I have tried moving the given brush (inside painter) into a new sub-category of my own, and saving it again, and the brush still cannot be found in the directory.

Any solutions will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

There's another folder where you have to make changes to as well. You might want to turn on hidden folders in the Explorer properties.

    On XP:
    \Documents and Settings\Yournamehere\Application Data\Corel\Painter\Default\Brushes\Painter Brushes

    On Vista:
    \Users\Yournamehere\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Painter\ Default\Brushes\Painter Brushes

I'm not sure where you'd make the changes in Macs though. :X

Thanks for taking the time to comment, but unfortunately, I don't have the Application Data folder, I've looked under Documents and Settings, as well as My Documents, with no success.

I'm running XP, for future reference, thanks!

You'll need to enable hidden folders.

Go to My Computer, select Tools (top menu), and choose Folder Options. Next, go to the View tab and select "Show Hidden Files and Folders". You should see the Application Data folder then.

    Legend.

My brushes are there, so what now? Transfer them over to the Program Files directory?

Just make sure you have your brushes in both spots (in the hidden folders and in the Program Files) and it should show up in Painter, depending on what Brush Folder you put them in (or if you made a new folder).
