In preparation for a Web Comic
Hey guys. I've been thinking about doing a Web Comic for a little while and finally started putting pen to paper and sketched out some characters. Please let me know what you think.
I think the main character is going to be Bobby.
He's a normal guy living in a world that's a mishmash of every sci-fi/fantasy convention you can think of. He's convinced his life sucks and his only friends is the Fuckbuddy 2000, a robotic sex toy/companion.
Bobby lives with two roommates: Dorian the Alchemist
And Klortho the Barbarian
Another drawing of Dorian. I'm just a little worried that he's looking a little too Dan Paladin (Alien Hommonid/ Castle Crashers) inspired. I think this drawing is an improvement over the last in that regard though. Thoughts?
A random character I have no idea what to do with...some short German guy who flies around in a hot air balloon delivering packages.
Here are two very quick exercises I did as per Scott McCloud's book "Making Comics". Basically its two different ways of telling the same story. I think one worked better than the other.
Last but not least, here's a birthday card I did for my friend Megan. Its also something of a test for my work process when I finally start doing this comic.

The Black Mage and Zombie Pope
Some more stuff...
I came up with this guy when creating a character in Soul Caliber IV for the express purposes of pissing off my roommate. It turned out to just really amuse the hell out of me instead.
This guy on the other hand just seems like a really awesome idea...

At first I thought I was going to have a character in the story that was inspired by Arthur Brown...
but then I decided to just draw Arthur Brown instead.
This attempt was a little half assed...
This one was finally acceptable.
I don't know where this little guy came from or where he fits just yet but allow me to introduce David the Deathmetal Gnome
The many faces of Vlad the Impaler (a la Bram Stoker's Dracula)
A finished version. I feel like he may need another pass though.
Then there are these guys. This is important, this means something...
Ok fine, I'm in a weird place right now.

I haven't updated this thread in a while but that's because Ive put aside the idea for THIS web comic. I have however been drawing a lot and also been keeping up a weekly comic journal.
Here's some random stuff I've been doing.
