I finally stopped lurking and got myself one of these sketchbook thingamajiggers.
I hope to draw comics for a living when I grow up but planning on majoring in either illustration or animation, I'm not quite sure yet.
And since I'm going to need to make a portfolio for college this year, let's cross our fingers and hope I improve enough to receive scholarships when I apply. (Arrghhhh recession *weeps*) So all critiques are welcome and appreciated!
To start off here's a quick self-portrait, I'll post some more right after this.

another Sb that shows a lot of promise from the first page alone!
Lovely portrait! very nice brushwork and colors.
sketches and linework are darling as well!
I will definitely be back in here to see what you are doing.
I SWEAR ON THE GRAVES OF ALL THE TALENTED FILIPINO ARTISTS WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE ME, THE FILIPINO ART LEGACY WILL CONTINUE!
Thank you for all your kind comments everyone! (Ugh I should probably thank individually but I'm a lazy butt) It makes me feel kind of a relief haha!
Karaudo: At the moment Calarts character animation is my top choice, but I'm also planning on applying Art Center (illustration), MICA (illustration), SVA (illustration/cartooning) and Cooper Union for now.
I might actually apply to AAU since it's close to home, and i took their figure drawing + comics beginning for their summer pre-college a year or so back, but they don't seem to have a lot of scholarship opportunities. Ahaha what would you say about their program?? (Oh and what are you taking there, your art is amazzinnnggggg *weep*)
Lots of sketches in this update, not much finished work
There's some concepts for comics here and there in these.
Like your sketchbook studies - *and I'm with Eerin - hands and that reclining girl are really good
*Like your enviro ideas too - (and of course your comic book style pages were the freaking shiz ) Keep posting - I'll be back!
