as I said, its painted from life, no photorefs used. The 'lens curvature' comes naturally when you look from one corner to another, you can try it by your own

It's great that you're updating your sketchbook again! I really missed looking at your pencil sketches. (But it makes one feel lazy when doing... Uhhh.)

Keep on drawing and updating! XD

Don't know if I commented yet, maybe i did. Well it doesn't matter.

Excellent works as usual. Your pencils are killing it.
I guess I'd have to meet you in person to express how much I like your work because writing it over the internet just doesn't do it justice.

I'll have to study your work for the next couple of months or so, see how much I can learn

    Keep at it

It's really impressive, as if there wasn't enough complexity in the work already! Do you have any real method for getting the curves, or do you just join multiple viewpoints and eyeball it?

So much life and energy in your work. I think even with great rendering and skills, capturing such an essence of life in work is probably the most difficult thing to achieve, and you seem to let this aspect flow naturally through your art.

Scintillating stuff!!!! So much knowledge and understanding presented in these paintings. Especially in those life paintings. Do you get most of your understanding through careful observational work?

Dam.. that live drawing from your dad and the `peeping unfinished one are great..

Teh peeping one reminds me in the topic to Norman Rockwell..

when i saw these, i actually forgot the word you used when you forgot words )
schubbuddubble something..but i'll just say Holy Crap

they're all awesome as always, and i particularly like the last one. it's great to explore other styles and techniques. The last one has a very nice textured feel thanks to the sketchy details.
What bothers me just a little is that perhaps some black lining on the inside of the upper eyelids could've helped your focal center. right now the "blackest" black is on the lips which brings them out unlike the eyes. The lips are damn hot, no doubt about it )
aargh, don't mind my mumblings, the piece looks great.

and thanks for dropping by my sketchbook, i hope you'll get around more often and kick my ass.
    and nevermind the boys, they're just..boys )
    cheers, J!
