Never posted such a small image before. Here is my first idea. Figure it should be something colourful.

This is interesting challenge and hard, since it isn't a single object, as character and creature activities have, but a complex scene. What would symbolise a scene? What various scenes have in common? Something simple, readable and, better, funny.. I will think about it and I would like to wish you all lucky with getting ideas

Earendil - liking that second one! It might be cool to try a version just using the tree against the conceptart beige. More like a single symbol rather than a composition. What u think? I like the stylisation on the tree, it reads very well at the small size

I echo ArtZealots's question too, do existing winners get an EOW tag? That would be cool

I've actually done pixel art before so yay! First thing that came to mind was a Yggdrasil tree.

*Edit* Since I think Reverie has people a bit busy, I decided to go on the safe side and update at exact size and including transparency.

This seems fun... Are there any limits besides canvas size? Colors, transparency, file size?

    Started doodling something up.

The first one was only for practice and is really bad... a house and a tree:

And the second one with transparency... a castle on a cliff:

@ Franna, I believe at least some of the icons use site color, but remember that the headers are a different color than the post containers. The .gif format supports transparency however so it's just as easy to use that.

Haha, don't hate me, but it's funny to see how people who are good with painting on larger canvas, struggle with so tiny icon

Anyway, I like Eerandil's second icon, because it's very clear. Creating colour samples would be a good idea.

Aphotic Phoenix's icon is the most creative in my opinion, but it's kinda hard to read. What about polishing and creating various samples?

Tetrodotoxin's first icon reads very well and it looks cute, but I would love to see something untypical

Thanks Tonic, I was wondering if it was readable enough. I'll play around some more and see if I can come up with a version that works a little better.

Uch, I thought I edited my post. I wanted to say I like hallo's icon and the first icon in second post. Cute ideas, but it would be good to remove falling rocks from island and smooth jaggy edges. Suitcase with stickers is a very interesting idea, as it indicates we travel to various areas, and this is exactly what we're doing here. I think EOW label would be easier to read if it wasn't tilted. Maybe enlarging it would make it better. I'm not sure if it's needed, as we can place the "EOW" around EOW icon. Keep working, you're doing fine

Hey. Nice ideas. My favourite one is that tree by Aphotic Phoenix. I agree with Tonic though. It could be a little bit more readable.

aphotic phoenix, your yggdrasil tree is my favourite so far.

i'm straying further and further away from obvious symbols.. this one might indeed be a bit too far fetched

There's some real cool icons appearing in here.

hallo- you got a lot of neat ideas. I'm leaning toward the first but yeah the falling rocks might be too much. suitcase is awesome but some might not get it...personally I love that idea though and concept. You know if you could slap something on there like a postcard of like a environment or maybe some stickers that really communicates environments you might have a winner there...er... hope that makes sense...

    Aphotic Phoenix
    - another really good one. Pop those colors out some more and maybe make the tree or planet more readable like everyone else is mentioning.

Actually, this one really does it for me. It would be nice if the EOW on the flag stood out more, but otherwise it reads well, and gets the idea across nicely.
