For CHOW #165: Super-Cute!
I've been sketching on paper towels at lunch for a while now.
Thanks Strassenpenner08. Testing out custom brushes, here's a result:
For CHOW 166:
Having drawn on 5 different kinds of paper towels so far; I'd say Taco Bell paper towel are some of the best:
For C.O.W. #149:
Wild stuff. I like the imagery you have going on. Loose, with some great color use and dramatic lighting. I really like the two black and white drawings! Keep jamming on this stuff. Play around some more with some of your compositions and rock on! I like what you have going on.
For C.O.W. 150:
on this last post: the composition is weak. the dragon is taking all the space (and contrast) with too little space to the bridge or man.
try to see your work zoomed out and flipped to strengthen the composition.
Thank you for the crit, zou. The dragon is taking most of the space because it was for C.O.W. which has much more to do with the concept of the creature rather than what surrounds it (though adding atmosphere to it wouldn't hurt either). It seems I didn't do so well in the atmospheric perspective department-- as I had intended the bridge to go behind the rock formation that the dragon was standing on and thus leading to an area below the dragon. But I can see how it confuses people being that it's so short and wide.
I'll edit it (given the time) to see what you think. Thanks.
For Chow 167:
ImaGEEnation: Hey! Great to see you here. I've seen you around here and there like C.O.W and CHOW. Awesome man! Thanks for your comments. And will do bro.
Lunch breaks at the day-job (I'll be posting daily now that I've found a home with an active feedback between artists. Myspace was totally a mistake. I'm going to post the photobucket links here of the old daily sketches as well as paintings):
zou: Thanks for the suggestion. Great to see you here again and you're always welcome here I tried to make a brush out of the textures that I had from the paper towel sketches and they turned out horrible--even played around with the brush settings. I'm gonna give it another go and post up results. Speaking of paper towel sketches:
Last break at work today:
I was late for this CHOW (Where The Wild Things Are). Just terrible this piece is. The little girl's skin is pretty pink.
