Recently I've started a personal challenge in the form of a blog. Basically my aim is to draw something, anything everyday. High level it sounds pretty easy, but work and general life commitments have always got in the way in the past. Well no more excuses! I figured by setting myself a target, I might actually stick to it. Hopefully I might even get a little bit better along the way!
Hey nice start man. I love the atmospheric mini environment with the tree. The old guy is full of character and good colour. As for mr potato head - well I don't think the lighting you have used it working right now, as an image there's no depth, and looks kinda unfinished
Hey AlexTooth, Thanks for your comments - you're 100% right about mr potato head. Everytime I look at it I like it a little bit less. It's a shame he can't really be posed more dynamically, but more interesting lighting would definitely help. I might go back to it if I get time.
In other news, here's a painter sketch I did at the weekend of the Incredible Hulk. It's a bit silly, but was good fun to do!

Great pictures! It's shown that you're really spending time on each painting, which is super. The enviormental pic, in your first post, looks really beatiful.
One thing I got to think of is that The Hulk could use bigger legs.. Hes upperbody looks quite heavy! The muscles overall looks very well anyway.
Cheers Dannelf I know what you mean about the Hulk. The pic started off being a exaggerated caricature, but then I got a bit too hung up on the anatomy. I think maybe the shadows lack a bit of oomph too....!
That little enviro of yours at the top is really, really nice. How did you enjoy doing it? Your sketchbook is off to a great start. I popped by your blog and am looking forward to checking out the rest of your work on there. Just wanted to pop in and tell you that I think you're doing some great work - you're really showing off some serious versatility.
rossipoo, Psychotime- many thanks for your comments, I'm glad you like what I'm doing
Here's a couple of pics from last week as well. One's a life study and the other is of an old guy I drove past on the way to the supermarket - I just loved that he was wearing a batman T-Shirt, so much so that I thought I'd do a quick painter sketch of him!
Hey Wu, you're spot on about the edges. The lines on the back are particularly bad. I'm never quite sure what to do when doing the highlight goes right to the edge. Maybe I should stop drawing on white paper. Either way I definitely need to work on crisping my lines up!
