You have some really cool stuff in here! The casts are brilliant, and those latest thumbnails look great too, interesting compositions.

I'm making my way towards the CA Atelier as well... if you wouldn't mind linking me to your portfolio as well I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to seeing where you take those thumbnails.

cdejong- will do. just have to upload a version that doesn't have my embarrassingly optimistic letter of intent ;P

norris- thanks! i'm not sure if you meant made-with-3d-software, but those face pieces are just graphite. i wish i could do that with 3d software. save me tons of time on environments ;]

didn't have my stuff to actually partake in tuesday night painting, so i decided to lurk in the underbrush and attempt to capture several untamed beasts undisturbed in their natural habitat. luckily, the booty crooning of r. kelly distracted them so i could get some rare footage.

Yeah, really great updates, I can't really decide which I like best. I would like to see more tree destruction in this one, http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1253385241 more little bits of splintered wood, falling branches and leaves, baby bird eggs, etc. Though you probably already had plans for that, just my 2 cents.

    KEEP IT UP, ROCK HARD....

Very interesting angel concept. I think the first one has the most impact.

I like the angel/beasts...cool designs and your values are improving. I guess just keep doing what you're doing because it's working and you're learning quickly!

Your composition is getting better with each new sketches. I agree that you need to work on the tonal values stuff (heck I suffer from the same problem ).

austen: thanks! yeah, i'm definitely going to keep that one and polish it up over the next few weeks. expect mayhem.

thanks, everyone. composition is pretty tough to wrangle in, and i definitely don't get it at all yet. having fun failing at it, though.

speaking of which, this guy is coming for you soon.

Nice skills you've got there. I do prefer the drawings to the paintings but I think that's just a matter of time. And what's with those beastie angels? If they are the angels, I don't want to see the demons, ha! Ok, enough of rambling.

    Great work, keep up!

Nice teaser. Also thanks for your constructive feedback at my sketchbook. It is very valuable to me as I don't get such advice at all during my college era.

Oh wow, that's looking really nice! Great job on the muscle masses, my only suggestion is maybe experiment around with different style horns, the ones now are good, but you never know if you can develop something stronger.

    keep it up!

    huey,austen: thanks!

cl0aked: some demons are technically just fallen angels, so i figured that my angels would have horns- since its only a matter of time before they become "official" fallen angels. long story thanks!

here's some nearly finished linework. bunch of other stuff on the way.

Oooh, I like how the design is coming along. Definitely an improvement. How about adding tattoo-like markings to some of the large, bare areas of the creature, like the shoulders?

    nurray: thanks!

Caco: that's a great idea. in my original concepts he had armor and tattoos and what not, and when i did away with the armor, the tattoos went too. i think you're right, they should come back. thanks!
