hehe, sorry i got a little carried away XD

Well this is my first thread, (I haven't added an intro yet)
Call me "Yoshi San" (Yes its japanese) if you please
    -------------------------------------------------------
This charecter you see below (yet unnnamed) is a lab rat (i.e. an experimental failure which acts as the main charecter -in a game that im thinking of-).

Initially the being was human, and it achieved its visible features after its abduction by alien life form during a war that began in the year 2066. A vast number of other humans that were abducted were also used for experiments to build a strong army (The "original" aliens have a disability and because of that, they are using beings from across the universe and modifying the genetic properties to rebuild a strong force of their own, hence everything they capture become one of their own).

I'll post the rest of the story once I think it over, until then, enjoy the drawings. they're still in their initial stages and harsh criticism is totally accepted.

Btw, as you may have noticed, the features change as you scroll down, allow me to explain:
Attachment 1: The first drawing, which I later used to add and innovate on.
    Attachment 2: First thought
    Attachment 3: Second thought

Now i was wondering if..in the game, the charecter experiences mutation as seen below in stages where in the beginning he looks like attachment 2 and later on in the game, he starts growing extra limbs for combat as seen in attachment 3...

(details on the different parts seen and their functions will be explained in future ideas)

    Thanks

I would highly suggest you begin some anatomy studies before taking this a bit further. The anatomy seems out of whack at places. Ex: Way small legs, hands too small... Just things that I notice with a quick glance. Try doing some studies and think of the creature in terms of shapes before continuing with details. Firstly it needs humanoid anatomy (since you say it's a humanoid creature) then you can expand upon it with the antannae and evil grin, etc.

Very nice design here, but I'd agree with Matte. It's a strong idea (I especially like the eyes, which sends a certain inhuman look), and stronger anatomy and rendering would bring it to life.

Oh and i totally forgot to give u an idea of what i drew lol

Well the creature (like i said in my first post) is a labrat, and the drawings above are of the time when the creature is in the incubator (still mutating, as you can see, its waist pincers havent grown yet, and the blade that covers the hips also hasnt grown yet. Spikes also havent grown (i.e. his human features are somewhat still intact-except for his reproductive organ[a.k.a. penis] which is covered by a protective skin layer)

Basically i have done a lot of remodelling to the early idea
Please let me know if this is better than the other versions ^^

    Thanks

-Btw, it took me around 2 hours to complete this drawing, lol, i had to edit and change the pose twice and then thought of this XD

In this iteration his mask seems to be the only mechanical part of him. I think it might help to add a whole pack of machines on his spine to emphasize control.

That aside, there are a couple of anatomy flaws (Head's a bit small, his left forearm, etc) and the pose seems kind of half-and-half. By that, I mean that his lower half is realistically floating in a tank, but his upper-body seems more active. Speaking of which, it'd be nice if you drew the tank he's in too.

Anatomy has improved on that one, good job. His left arm still seems a little off. The entire body seems emaciated, so his arm should be very toned, with no fat to hide muscle. As for the pose, relax the said left arm (Make it look floating in water). You'd have to put strength on your arm to keep it straight like that, and I'm assuming he's unconcious and unable to do so.

The added machine parts seem just a tad haphazard; they're in very different flavors. The mask is very sleek/futuristic, the "belt" seems rather barebones and postmodern, and the wrist strap seems like present-day technology. The belt could be replaced with some abdomen braces matching the style of the mask, and the wrist strap could be replaced with a needle visibly piercing the flesh, to make it look scarier.

Keep going, you're definately doing better.

Very nice. You've done a great job at adding harmony to the machine parts, and I like the direction this is going in.

But I really liked the stance the very first picture in this thread had, and with the braces that rigid-looking, the stance may not be possible with that kind of gear. You could easily fix this with some grooves or hinges in the armor.
The shoulder pad seems really random, too. It doesn't seem to serve any purpose being there, and sticks out in the design.

I love those little creatures. Their purpose could be strengthened by having them pierce his flesh at more sensitive places; When going for a scary look, stuff that's stabby and unpleasant should be in places that would make a weak-stomached viewer queasy. Having them inject into the back of the forearm isn't very scary, because in real life, poking that spot doesn't hurt much. Inserting it into the wrist vein or the collarbone or the nape of the neck, however, is much scarier.

No problem. And if you're having trouble translating stuff in your head to paper, just get a spare sheet and doodle whatever you think of. Later you can collect your ideas and fuse the best ones together.
