Largely self-taught artist here trying to learn Photoshop. I'm fairly comfortable with traditional mediums but need to get my digital game together. I'm interested in working as a illustrator for 2D art. This is my second time posting a sketchbook and I assume the last thread was erased for inactivity. Guess that means I have to post more often!
Comments and Critique are welcome.!
This 1st image is charcoal and pencil anatomy study from an art class earlier this year. I decided to finish it off. I might move it to Photoshop to correct some issues and use it as a digital piece.

Here's a an attempt at drawing a person in color. The head and shoulder need help but I don't want to put too much effort into practice pieces. Gonna try going from grayscale to color next time for speed and ease. Two steps included.
I also attached gesture practice from Quickposes.com. I stuck to simple figures due to unfamiliarity with Photoshop. Can't wait until this program isn't a crutch.
First of all, great stuff! I see you're studying the right things, keep it up! You're on the right track.
The transition to digital can be very annoying... I see that you're trying to mix your colors on the canvas, and I have a suggestion that will make the color management in photoshop waay easier. Search for Coolorus, it's a photoshop plugin. It allows you to pick a color direcly on the screen, without having to open any menus. It has a color wheel and various sliders, fully customizable. It made digital painting enjoyable to me. I hope it helps!
