A creative artist works on his next composition because he is not satisfied with his previous one. When he loses a critical attitude toward his own work, he ceases to be an artist. - Dmitri Shostakovich
Awesome sketches. So much variety. So many characters to look at. And the fact that You manage to get the proportions right with just a few lines is impressive. I struggle a lot with that. Keep them coming!
Rhubix your stuff looks always good, how good is your left hand I am
sure we'll all enjoy the left hand sketches, would be super interesting.
I am back to comiX again. I love your women sketches they have so much
Loving all the new characters sketches!! Wish they got you for the new broken sword game. Also the environment in post #751 is really nice and vibrant. Have you tried painting one that is less ambiently lit so you have to rely on shadows and loc more to describe things? Might be fun. So much cool new stuff on here nice to be back on CA
Psage- Little late on the response here haha –Miyazaki's retiring is so heart breaking! France and Spain also have some really beautiful drawn work. It's getting scarce, and that makes me a sad panda! It's also why I love doing FX – it's still more cost effective to draw those by hand. Many 3D tv shows use 2D fx.
Hanna.McGill – haha, I do get caught up on characters, but there's so much more out there! I need more time, or a clone.
Tea of Doom- Thanks ^_^ keep on swimming...
Cricketts – ty
Johnny24 – Sorry I haven't been very interesting >.<
Flashback – Absolutely!! I practice other peoples stuff all the time. I geek out a bit when people want to draw from me lol.
Niquey – thanks! I really want to get better at them.
Sin Eater – It doesn't happen over night- and I still have plenty of trouble with proportions. They're tricky – fast sketching and location sketching really helped me a lot. Also, perspective. The better your perspective is the less you have to think when you're doing fast sketches. Frees up some brain power.
Iven – my left hand is useless!! lol. My right arm has been over-worked lately so I've been trying to use my left hand for opening doors and simple daily tasks- nope! can barely hold a water glass with it. One of these days I'll give you a good laugh and draw with it.
BurntToast (love the name!) As fun as that sounds, I really can't commit myself to anything- life is too much of a gong show right now. I will come take a peak though.
Yuniken – thanks ^_^
V3T – I know I'm awful!! Big update today!
Whirly – Got broken sword in a tab in my browser to peak at . I like the shadowy place idea. I have a billion things I need to work on.
The7artist7 – yeah CA has really gotten back on it's feet. I really need to do the same- but I say that every time I forget to post for a month >.<
Palladium – thank you!!
Busy busy busy - I'm a total monster for not posting - Again!! I have a bunch of warm-up stuff for you guys, and I'm going to do my damnedest to visit all your sketchbooks by the end of the week.
Working on 2 shows right now and destroying my arm in the process - but I'm going to have some great fodder for a new fx reel when all the NDA's are up!
(Most of this is loosely from reference, looking for gestures and shapes)
Meanwhile - season 2 of Ever After High is starting to air (I'm fx artist on that, not season 1.)The Wildkratts episodes I worked as compositor / Fx on are airing too, so I'll have to try to find the renders I made of that...
I have some render-time sketches to scan, so there will be another post soon (not 2 months from now, geez.)
Thanks so much for all the comments, I really needed that after such a long break from my personal work.
happy sketching all!
thanks Buxu & Kono! ^_^
The7Artist7 - gha!! you know deadpool is my weakness >.< I have spent an unreasonable amount of time with ice on my arm from this project I'm working on! I keep drawing anyway and it hurts!
Must draw tiny dead pool.....
