Hey just browsed through a fair amount of your sketchbook and it's addictive! There's something about animator's cartoon / expression / character that I love and I have to say you're an excellent artist! A good dose of inspiration thank you! Subscribed!

    Keep up the great work!

This sketchbook is beyond awesome. Your technical proficiency is simply astounding. I am most certainly subscribing and can't wait to see much more.

And now for something completely different:

Thanks a bunch on dropping past my sketchbook, It's fantastic to finally get some replies. After months of just me, it's nice to feel a little bit more active in the community of this site. Thanks.

Thanks The7Artist7 - cartoons are the funnest
    Cross_Faith - I studied animation in college
Thanks so much Goats-On-A-Boat welcome to the club!
Sushy - I do! My last job, and this latest one are both doing special effects, among other things. . Glad you like my toons ^_^

Been pretty wiped out getting up to speed at the new job, and getting used to the commute in the frigid cold. most of my free time has been filled with WoW - such a looser I know!

Thanks Alizak ^_^, Just remember we were all in the same boat as you at one point. I remember how frustrating it was before I learned "how to learn" to draw.

Today's post is just a little one. my commute doesn't have as much subway time as the last one - It's hard to draw on a shaky bus when the cold makes your bones cramp - can't wait for spring- then I can take the scenic rout home and draw a bit more.

Always like seeing animators sketchbooks they have their own interesting approach and the characters are very expressive.

    and Alizak - thanks,
I want the healer to be emo / druidic, but I don't want everyone wearing green - still waiting for feedback from the boys.
Here's the first shot at the warrior- still to complex I think - again waiting for feedback.
+ random cintiqy doodles so much fun!

Thanks Luk999 - I don't really do finished illustrations - since I'm an animator proffesionally. All my finished stuff is for the shows I've been employed on >.< Really ought to pick that habit up though.

Here's what I was playing with today- I think the shadows could use some more work- but I'm sleepy

I like the look of the warrior - but he does come across as a bit of a wussy - was that the intention?

great stuff, and congrats on a cintiq,I would love one,but I don't think its worth the price (could build a whole new fast pc for less) most be great for digital animation.I only used it in PS when I was a student.

    keep on drawing! (and animating)

aaaaw, I see a dragon cutie! Looking at the expressions of the dragon and the warrior it looks the dragon is falling in love and the warrior has no idea how to deal with it XD (don't think that that was your intention... but I just can't unsee it now)

    Thanks Meteor

Alizak- yep- I was going for a wimpy guy- but I think I made him too wimpy. gonna keep working on it.

Nubian Greene - I wasn't sure how much better it would be for animating until I started playing with it- It really does make a huge difference and I'm really glad I invested the money. It will pay for itself with the time it saves me.
    - in the mean time if you are interested in animation it's good to know that some studios will expect you to own a cintiq or drawing tablet if you want to work freelance. by the time I have kids I want everything I'll need to work from home .

Valyavande- lol I didn't see that until you pointed it out. Maybe he's a valentines dragon

Been having some wrist pain so I haven't been drawing much the past 2 days (unless you count the 9 hour work days ...) but here's some subway / bus-sketches

Nice! Congrats on the new job! Hope you do well! Your sketches are looking great as usual. Loving the expressions and the different shapes you're experimenting with. The character concepts are interesting too. I always love your subway sketches as they capture so much movement and likeability! Keep up the great work and I will continue to check up. By the way, congrats on the cintiq! I'd kill for one, but those guys are expensive! Glad you invested money to buy one!

Nice work man, is most of this stuff from imagination?
One thing i'm noticing is that the volumes of your forms aren't really coming through. Like in that warrior sketch, his arm pads don't really suggest three dimensions. Maybe try some more schematic drawings where you draw through the forms to indicate solidity and just increase three-dimensionality of the way you think.
