very solid first post. And like pijus said, study study study.
I notice that there are only digital paintings, so i would recommend doing pencil/marker drawings as well.
Do studies from photos, real life, artists that you like etc.
Then apply what you learn from the studies, to your imaginative work.
Keep updating and have fun
Thanks fumble and pijus
did some sketches recently and thought I would post em.
and shifted some other pics in here too

jack nicholson pic, from ref, took bout 2 hrs
its a dude, with a skull on his head, in a cave
nice composition and lighting, how long did it take ?
Insert very insightful quotes here ...
- get back to work!
thanks strings, it took about 4 hours on/off
some more goodies
some random sketches and a photoshop sketch that took about an hour and a half or so
here are some more photoshop drawing thingies
I like your style, that jack-pic is really great. I would like to see more like that one. Keep it up.
Thanks CastorFiber, will post more ref speedies for sure.
Small update, some anatomy studies, drew the full pencil figure from ref then did the muscles and skeleton in photoshop. Took longer than I thought it would.
some random sketches and a reference WIP
will post more studies soon
Are those oompa loompas? This wolverine one is looking nice. : > My favorite is the hulkish man on the leash.
If you have the time, please stop by my sketchbook, Chock Full o'Nuts.
I would appreciate any advice or critiques.
DKHutcheson: yes indeedy those are oompaloompas thought it would be quite entertaining to have a bunch of them inside your head. glad you like the wolvie and leash pics, will update soon.
hey, small update..
some 30sec poses, eye studies ( I still suck so hard at drawing eyes) some random sketch from imagination and more work on a wolvie ref pic, the pic im using for ref is tiny so it doesnt really look like hugh jackman yet and alot of the detail is made up.
some sketches and an idea gone horribly wrong
some pose studies, random sketches and a photoshop painting, the crow kicks ass
Pretty good work in here, dude!
One thing I can comment on: you seem to be using really low opacity brushes, and it sort of gives it a scribbley look. This is because of a lack of confidence. Don't be afraid to sit down, find the RIGHT color, and then just plop it down. You may not find the right color in the first try, but just adjust the mix, and lay it down again in a large confidant shape.
Keep up the work dude!
Sublimus: thanks dude, you're right bout the brushes, I still struggle with color but I will give that solid color thing a go.
some sketches, studies and a wolvie pic, did this from a really small/bad ref pic so I made alot of shite up, anyways..
Great work so far, Wolverine is looking awesome! Keep up the good work.
Wabbit, you have some wild imagination. Some of your digi paintings are just out of this world! I love it. Good work on the digital, I think your anatomy studies are good too. Just a suggestion, maybe you could improve by working on smoothing out your lines and a little bit more. Keep up the awesome work. I enjoy your sketchbook! I'm working on more stuff for mine!
nice work. keep going with loose sketches :-)
danlucas - thanks dude, yeah i need to work on my sketches and line work, overall I am a very lazy bastard, a habit i need to break.
Kristo Novo - thanks you are right though I need to sketch waaaay more.
and speak of the devil... some sketches, mixed studies and mind garbage.
now back to running on one spot and going nowhere really fast.
