ummm hmm.. it be cool to design concepts for a unique world....like with architecture costum designs, culture as much as you could describe about it with just visuals... that may be to much to dive into but it would be a challenge and would leave alot of room for using our own styles..... ive always wanted todo something like this but i am always destracted with other ideas popping in my head. tell me what you think.....just an idea.. and maybe we could make it alittle more specific....

sounds good, how about a character with a completely different world shown in the background. Like a metropolis.

We could be able to see him from a some how close view and in the horizon there would be a civilization ( other than ours ).

and the ambiance of the piece... at dawn... or night ?

    my 2c for the day

well well, heh, couldnt prevent it, i had to start !

    alkaline111 vs softdrawer

anyway, made 2 quick sketches ( characters ) but i didnt like them, so i had a sudden idea about a strange world.

    - so i finaly got my final 1st good "sketch"...

    - heres my idea : My world doesnt have any gravity, so pretty much evrything floats. Theres still air tough ( yeah its sketchy but i like it that way ). Ive got this dude sitting on floating "squares" just taking a rest i guess and we can see the "world" behind him. some things will be attached, others might stay in place by a field force of some kind.

then i tought i had to give something unique to my citizens, so the dude is half black half color. By this i mean they have half their body tinted in black and the other half is skin color wich could be normal beige color or blue or whatever...

    heres a quick view...

    alkaline111 vs softdrawer

Sorry for the poor resolution...for some reason my image station wont allow me to adjust it no matter what ( the size wont make a diffrence )

    - if you dont like the idea we can still start all over -

    :chug:

man im alittle confused on exactly how this works... im guessing its just conceptual stuff...so like your idea would work witht the theme.... how bout the theme be called "unique world" and we can branch off to our own ideas.... yours great with the no gravity thing....so rules i guess.. being as many concepts as we can put.. but lets say there has to be at least an architecture one, a inhabitnat one(character) and a final peice incorporating both.. and then of coarse other concepts that would support your idea... is the right path? or does it work differently?... agree on this?.. i wanna make sure that we both have topic that will be injoyable so let me know...

    "unique world" as theme ?

hmmm... i think we have to be more close to the same theme... like we would have to pick "no-gravity world" or something more specific ( i think )... so we pretty much have the same subject.

are you down with gravity world ?...might be something else ( even tho i liked the idea ) cuz i think unique world is too wide and not specific. ( the challenge is picture the same thing but with diffrent details...but we need the same concept )

theme : non gravity world ?

yeah i guess your right needs to be more straight forward......im going to post a few ideas...some now and some later.... when i get home.... and you do the same for themes.. and see if we find one that we both like... i liek the no gravity.. but let see if what else we can come up wiht.. if we cant decide by tomorrow night.. then "non gravity" it is

    1. concepts for "good vs evil".."good and evil"

do concepts for both sides both sides.

heh i guess ill need the night tothink about more
ill be thinking about it all night .....dont wanna draw this into a big deal just wanna see what other ideas we can scrouge up..

verrrry nice - - ilove this sort of stuff, alkaline. Try to get the structure of the earth right, it looks like it being 'pulled' left a bit plastically. Is the idea that the whole earth/universe grew from this?

well right now um undecided how io want everything to work.. i thought about it today at work and ithink have a good concept...so im going to work on those ideas..... im just trying to think of ways i can lay out the drawings to make the idea as clear as it is in my head.... dont want to explain it right now cause then it wont force me to show it visually....

this is great fun!!! cant wait to see our(softdrawer) ideas come to life......keep me posted

well after all the family stuff gots over.. and all the x-mas blah blah.. i finaly got to sit down with pencil and paper and whipped a quick drawing...... i have the world split into three major settlements(islands supended in midair) i started off with the "evil" one first... dont have a name for them yet... and dont want to settle for something cheesy.....but anyways... i first was having the soilders with these heavy arrmored sholder pads to weight them down.....i gave him some spikes at the bottom of his feet to hold him to the ground but then realized that wouldnt be to practical....what happens if he wants to stop off at his freinds house and his floor just got tiled....so that wouldnt be to much fun...... then the wolf like creature kinda snuck in the picture..... differntly influenced by the wargs of lotr.... not intentionaly, probabaly because i stare at the "art of lotr" every time i retire to the boys room....and he would just be floating around.. so i will have to come up with somthing....im still just concepting.... gathering ideas..i will have it all together before the end though..... i hope

softdrawer: love the background now.... totally made your pic 1000 times better... looking good brother!!

Looking good, alkaline111. Very nice sketch.

softdrawer, cool image. But I think you also need to whip out some concept, to give us a whole idea of your "world".

    Great work both of you!

Ok, well the world has no gravity so basicly nothing should stay in a fixed position. the solution ?... Force fields !!! So what you see under the main character ( the column ) with the flashy blue source of light is one of them. So basicly everything is put together by these "reactors".

    upcoming updates :

    - i might add few citizens fying around. could look good. ( probly looking at the horizon )

    - more floating structures. So what ill do is place them so that they will form a "X" ( noth south east west ) and up and down. Now it only looks like its going up, down and a bit on the sides. i want it more spreaded out so that people can actualy go anywhere they want in space.

    - clouds ? yeah that could kick ass but i have to be carefull on that ( too much will ruin everything )

    - work on the legs ( i went too fast on these ) they look horrible.

    - the sky now looks very bright, it might be too brigth, so ill try fixing the color then it'll be easyer to make the clouds.

    - and i had a tought about how its possible to lift super heavy stuff when theres no gravity, so i mioght make a dude in the background carrying 2 huge blocks or some kind of material.

    - i was also thinking about the problem or air. There should be none, so maybe ill add a "air generator " lol , yeah it sounds cheezy...anyways...

mary christmas fellas !! ( yeah its a bit late to say it but )

oooh !!!... and ill try giving the guy some super cool grasses cuz it should be hard to see when theres no gravity and theres a lack of air... no ? and if it looks gayish ill take them off... deal.

    hiya hiya and merry christmas.

alkaline-nice sketch. what did you smudge out that you dont wat us to see, hrm??

soft- good concept, be careful it doesnt get too cluttered.
One thing thats really bugging me about yours is the block the dude is sitting on. It doesnt appear to be centered over the force field at all - it seems as if it has only its corner over it. If this was the case, the block would be tilting back. Try centering the block and removing this distraction. Cheers guys keep up the good work.

Solid concepts both - well in a floaty sorta way.

    Peace

    thanks
