Spawn : Architects of Fear (+ sketches) / Magic / Reverie

    Hi all !
    "Long time no see."
Too much stuff and work this last months and not really present on the board and the internet.
I've finally got something new to show especially since the release date is now close : I've finally finished another Spawn graphic Novel for Todd MacFarlane and it will be released in May. Story by Arthur Clare. The book is called : Spawn : Architects of Fear. 44 pages fully painted and 16 extrapages with images and additionnal story.
I've begin it a long time ago, but between the hard work on the pages, the style that I've used (close to my illustrations) and my other commitments (Merlin, Magic...) it was long to finish. Now it's done and I'm really happy with it So I can show some samples too. "May is Spawn month"

I've also won a silver award in the next Spectrum artbook in the comic-book part with a cover done for Annihilation : Conquest (Marvel). That means a lot for me!
Especially in a book that I've used 16 years ago at school as reference, trying to improve my painting skills And coming from professionnals like those in the jury, all the people who won the awards before, it's huge...

And least but not last, I'll take part in the next Conceptart.org / Massive Black workshop called "REVERIE" in Dallas end of March. Another incredible art event. Everything you must know about this :

If there is only one art convention or an art event that you can't miss, this it.

    -------------------
Just added some Magic : the Gathering illustrations (landscapes this time).

Hi Aleksi. Huge congratulations on the spectrum award my friend, you truly deserve it. Amazing work as usual, but especially nice to see your workings and thumbnails for the pages. Can't wait to see Spawn and Merlin.

Thank you for adding some much needed weight to the Spawn universe. There's almost too much going on in each panel, but you've managed it all beautifully. The storytelling is clear and unhindered by the detail. Best of all, the characters feel very natural, not stiff or posed, well done!

Incredible work!!! I can imagine how long the Spawn book took with the interiors having the same quality as your covers. Truly worth the wait! And congratulations on the award- you deserve it!

Hey Aleksi, nice to see a life sign, and congratulations to the silver award, that must be wonderful thing. I remember when I saw some pages from this book at your website (i think it was) a few years ago. I was awestruck, that was just like the things I wanted to do, storytelling. Thanks for inspiering us.
I'll definetly look up your spawn book. Something that's been worked on for that long must have strong legs to stand on.

    Thanks.
