I think a breath weapon is just that... what it uses to combat evil.

Dragons typically have breath weapons. The most common of course is breathing fire. Dragons from the Dungeons and Dragons game, for instance, have different breath weapons based on their color. Some spit acid or emit a bolt of lightning or spew a cloud of poisonous gas.

But for these Beatific Dragons, they should have a breath weapon that goes along with their saintly, holy, or benevolent natures.

At the same time, these are dragons... they just happen to fight for goodness and not evil.

Dragon's can be any size, color and shape you want to make them, as long as they don't look like a house cat or anything else that you would find at the local zoo.
As for the criteria, the most important rule in the brief is the last line. Read it and sketch whatever comes to mind. The other stuff is only suggestions.

This one will be tough for me, for I never draw creatures of light.

You can try a cute angle if you want. There are cherubs and there are archangels and I would consider both holy and beatific. But you'd have to pull it off pretty well in a really specific way that amped up the holiness I think. This dragon, per the description, is a saintly, beatific, powerful force of good. Not a bath toy.

Kevin, yours really reminds me of Falcor =P

Great looking dragons everyone! I'm not feeling so well... hopefully I'll have some time to work on this tomorrow... or maybe I'll feel better tonight.

Kovah: The circle is because I was trying out some radial gradients... also, maybe a halo sort of deal? It's pretty cheesy at this point, but of course I will mellow it out. Thanks for the feedback! =)

This round is too good to pass up even though I'm still busy with college work. If there is one thing I can't pass up on is the chance to draw lovely benevolent dragons. ^_^ Some of my quick concept sketches...
