A page full of beauties. Thinking about posting myself to interrupt this chain.

Anyways, it's the first time I discovered this thread and I think it is a great idea. If somebody is showing a nice and ugly grimace with cool shadows I may take out the pencil.

Turns out it's actually a pretty cool mrthod for getting a sice solid form to stuff. Also included a wip anim gif so you guys can see the steps!

You didn't fail - you tried and that's what's important. Now go try some more.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

Blackdelphin, maXmood, Imaginary Friend- I'm actually honored that you guys picked my photo for your studies. And don't be discouraged- I've seen my face for the last 30 years every single day in the mirror and I'm not able to draw it that well either But the portrait are amazing, I might even pick one of them to use as an avatar around here

Well I never checked out this thread or the "what does everyone look like" thread before until recently- I discovered it's excellent portrait practice, and then I figured why not share! I guess in fairness I should post a few pictures of me too...

Dreoilin and chriskot- my jaw literally dropped to the floor with your redemptions of my humble face. Great job you guys. I'm truly flatered by your portraits!
Now trying to actually depict my own face properly :|

No, it's difficult to render that kind of pencil texture digitally. It's definitely some traditional media, most likely pencil, with digital washed over it.

Yeah, it's pretty small sketches made with a ballpoint pen, scanned and colored digitally. The second one was made on different paper so the texture from the ink didn't come out as much.
