A cricket with a cricket egg! I love the texture on that one.

    Spectrum 18

Couple of new things. I was honored to do the call for entries poster for Spectrum 18. Check out Spectrum to see the incredible list of jurors this year. I also did this small piece on wood to help raise funds for building in Art Blocks for Ghana. Great cause.

Bhanu, I think Spectrum always needs new voices. One of the reasons that it has maintained its popularity is because new talent and different stuff is always coming to light. You should definitely enter your work. It all comes down to the jury, but I know when I juried I was on the lookout for a range of things not just the same old thing. I mean look at guys like Carlos Huante. Your pieces could really make them think and that would be a good thing. Just remember to reproduce it well and on the large side.

Thanks a lot Mr. Carman, I was just a little vary just because i wrongly thought that it just caters to sci-fi illustrations and such, and i did some research, and yes the variety of art is astounding, and yes the quality of work is astounding as well.
I will go ahead and enter it, but first i gotta finda a good printer.

Mr. Carman, waiting for the whole image and looking at a little teasers you posted on your blog was so exiting. I just couldn't wait, so I tried to figure out what is it for in advance. (with success

bhanu, you have a few months I have faith in you.
drbibin, maybe I should have a contest on my blog. Free painting if you guess what it will be from the clues.
Nuge, if I didn't mix it up I would go crazy.
Kozmo, thanks. They call me the stimulator.

Thanks Patrick. Always nice to get a nod from a great pro. I've sold some work in Australia and New Zealand. I have at least two fans there.

Something a little different for me. A little larger painted on paper. I hate the idea of shark fin soup and have done a few pieces about it. I have a couple of process shote on my blog: Bill'sStudio

    Lesser of Three

New painting. I loved the dating game when I was a kid. I guess that sorta dates me. Still deciding between blue or clear bubble. Any opinions? I have process shots on my blog: Bill'sStudio

Oh wow, that new one is my favourite from you yet!
    Are these oils on paper?

The blue bubble takes my vote because it creates a nice diagonal line that is the opposite of the line created by the heights of the "daters"

    Mr. Carman,

Beautiful work, and a great personal point of view! I just got your Spectrum poster in the mail and it is hanging up now in the TAD RVA studio.

    Look forward to seeing more.

    Best,

    J

Been looking at your thread, but not posted anything on it for a while. Here's just to say how much I really like 'Lesser of Three' and to add my praise of your work in general which makes me mindfull of footprints in dreaming snow.

Love your work, they're all wonderful but if I had to chose, I'd say "shark fin soup" is my favorite.

Chris, Footprints in dreaming snow. I like it.

Andrew, thanks I like how it turned out too. Can't believe people maim sharks for the soup though.
