    Sketches by Scooter

    Hi there
I thought I would post my sketches here, which vary from rough concept images, to do different anatomy studies which I need to do more often and I figured this site would be a good site to post my progress and get some real crits and not just 'thats pretty good'.
All of my concepts are for any possible future 3d models that I may or may not create.

The first image a concept for wizard character that I'm going to create in Maya, its more or less getting my idea onto paper and so I don't forget it.
The second image is a few heads for a possible elven archer type character that I had an idea for. The head on the right was the first one I drew while looking at pic I found, the one in the center was also used ref as a guide to draw it. Finally the one in left is the final one a drew, using both the first and second head plus an anatomy book as reference.

I would like proper crits and not just 'thats awesome' comments.

Right now, your anatomy studies are your strongest work. Do more of those. A ton more. Get the basics down strong and they'll start to show in all of your pieces.

I honestly thought my anatomy studies wouldn't be a strong for point for me, I thought wrong
I know I need to improve my anatomy for both 2d and 3d since I also need to do more organic 3d models my last one was a dragon.

Heres a quick hand study I did last night after work, so it was mostly done between 11pm and 12pm and my drawing isn't at its strongest from 10pm onwards.

Some more sketches, just some anatomy practice and a female elven concept.

Those legs are looking awesome. I can see where you incorporated your anatomy studies into that elf. It looks way better than the guy in the first post.

I'll admit that I didn't really concentrate on the anatomy for the guy, I just wanted to get the idea down onto paper. But for the elf as she has tight(er) clothing I wanted to get the anatomy looking half resonable, but I do think I screwed up the face.
I haven't done any drawing since my last post as I've been out and its a bit hard to drive and draw. But I have started my wizard concept as a model in Maya, the clothing on him is supposed to be baggy and loose with a robe over the top. Its being done as a real time model.

I was sitting out side looking at the '78 Ford Escort sitting in the backyard so I sketched it. The passenger door, seat, and wind screen were missing. The reason why the rear wasn't done was I simply couldn't see it as there was a bin, shade clotch (which protects my '79 Ford Escort from the weather) and a pole.

I did a couple sketches during my break at work, so these are completely done with out any reference.
