    Painted on Iphone

I am not an artist, i didn't have any art education at all. I drew these on iphone screen, no other touch-up. Please let me know what you think.

Edit: all my Iphone pics can be found here http://colors.collectingsmiles.com/a...page=1&id=4508

Those all look excellent! The first one in particular is awesome. It looks almost like a photo. The only thing that I can really find to criticize is that the girl's left shoulder in the third image ("Study of Body and Light") looks a little off to me.

Actually, I didn't know that Colors! was on the iPhone. Thanks a bunch for pointing that out! Looks like I finally have a good digital painting app to play with on the bus.

How are you not an artist? You make art, which is quite good.

Thank you! I just started to paint on iphone, before i was just doodling on scraps of paper, nothing serious came out. I'm new to painting and wondering if i have what it takes . Want to hear honest professional opinion, (friends and family will always root for you, lol).

These are awsome. I would think this would take forever with such a small screen.

That was done on an iphone? Astonishing.

Of course you are an artist, these are wonderful. The first 3 are worthy of a Finally Finished thread.

This application called "Colors!". More of my work and playback available at http://colors.collectingsmiles.com/a...page=1&id=4508

The small screen is not really a limitation, and it takes from 4 hours to 2 days, about.

your anatomy in your Painter piece is a little skewed, but you have an innate sense of form and light, which is often hard to come by. you say you've never taken art seriously?

The guitarist and the first nude are especially good. I'd have to disagree with your opening statement.

I started to paint in November, all thanks to that application. You can see in the link where i started and i while i learned I really enjoyed the process. Now i am thinking if i should take it seriously.
I'm really having fun with painter x now, these all coming to my imagination, no reference used at all, thats why anatomy messed up.

Thank you for positive comments! It's just like "american idol" for me: everyone thinks they are so good that Simon will be sorry. In fact they are delusional! Thats why i'm looking for a reality check.
I've started a sketchbook so I don't spam this thread.

Just to show you where I started in November:

You might want to put some free time into some studying. Honestly- painting since november you've achieved more in a few months than most achieve in a while. I started painting and wasn't making anything that looked like anything for about a semester and a half, and then they looked like something, but it was really bad . You learned a vast amount in a little time.

Pretty darn bitchin', though. I'd say you're on to something and I wouldn't stop working on this- start taking it seriously. It could always go somewhere.

Learn to use traditional medium- I mean you could probably figure it out by the end of the week .

Simply amazing. How on God's Green Earth are you able to paint on such a small screen in such detail? These are astounding!

Wow! On an iPhone? Well... the first and third ones are particularly great. I especially love the lighting on the third one!
I guess you used reference photos?

    These are amazing, and inspirational.

I'm not at all a painter, more of a pencil+paper person... but these certainly inspire to try painting, especially with PainterX.

Hmmm. If you're not an artist, then I'm still in preschool. That, or you're a savant of sorts. If this is genuine (and not a creative ad for iPhone), you're off too an exceptional start! Keep up the studies. Us long-time practitioners tend to neglect that aspect of painting. The more studies you do, the stronger your understanding of dealing with light and composition will be. This leads to a greater mastery of expressing the ideas which come directly from your mind. Good luck, though I clearly need more luck than you, if I'm to keep up.

Wow, thank you for such encouragement! Totally unexpected! I will begin to study.
I bought a tablet and playing on painter demo with it (its expensive), thanks for the push!
I must say it's a lot easier for me on iphone with just one brush.
