    Sunset/Sunrise (Updated! 5/24/09)

I went hiking one day on this ridge near our apartment. The view from the ridge was absolutely amazing, unfortunately though, I didn't have a camera with me. I didn't get a chance to sketch anything either. But a few days passed and the image was stuck in my head, so this was the result.

It's not finished yet, and this is only my third time using Prisma colored pencils. Im going to touch up some of the inking, as the colored pencils seemed to have faded some parts of it.

    It's a very happy picture .

Maybe you can tell us a bit more about what you want the final to look like, and we can go from there?

Im not really sure what I want the final picture to look like. I think I want the background bit faded somewhat, so the focus is more on the foreground.
Is the lighting off at all? I think that might be my biggest problem in this piece.
What can I do to make the picture "jump out" a little more?

    Finally Finished

I finished this some time ago, just never got around to posting it here.
Im not too pleased with the scanned version, as it is a lot darker in person.
    But here we go ...

I think it's great. The falling leaves give it some motion, which is nice. I think the city could use a little more detail rather than just being gray rectangles, but hey; this looks like Capetown.

I've always been a fan of cross hatching. Nice work.
