Sorry for double post, still havn't figured out how to write stuff under pictures on here _ help?
Anyway it's been AGES since iv'e done any anatomy or body poses etc - any sort of practise actually. So I propose to do a 20 min session of posemaniac every day to loosen up before drawing.
So here they are, along with a random quick character design and a WIP for me next piccy.

I recently took up needle felting, as I wanted to make some of my critters in 3D. I enjoy working with nice soft fuzzy wool. The needles don't half hurt your finger though ;s I'm happy with how he came out.

Wow you just get better and better, I particularly love the "scribe" critter. Your 3d guy actually looks alive! Maybe I'll run into him next time I'm walking in the woods in Perthshire

I love your drawings. They're so friendly but complicated, sort of like that lady who illustrated the Harry Potter books...

I reallly really like that felt character. Make more of those.

    Hey RS
Love the little felted guy. As always, looking good. You're definitely one of the CA.org folks who keeps me popping back here from time to time. Mostly over at the Hub now. A little quieter there. And I like their file manager

Thanks guys, I will continue felting, very addictive..
Anyway finished this..trying to do the sort of rachkam look with using limited palette of browns. I think the background could have been better but meh..also I cant work out if the wings are in the totally right position?

Quick question. Was looking through your work again (always a pleasure) and was wondering what you were doing your line work with.

@ Freddy - Iv'e started to use a Coloursoft pencil for my lines(which unfortunately means sharpening every two minutes!)which I find kind of useful, because it fades a little when painted over, so any areas I want to bring forward or pick out I can go over again with the pencil, or brown ink if it isn't strong enough. Iv'e started using a more orangy brown too, rather than my usual sepia, seems to give things a faded look which I like.

I love your stuff! It really reminds me of all the images I loved as a child (and still do).

I saw you asking about putting text below pictures, and incase you didn't figure it out already just click on the paperclip after you've attached your images and it'll embed the image you choose where your cursor is, then you can write below it.

You know I just found your sketchbook, just now.

And you're one of my favorite artists. Granted, I don't know and keep track of many artists, but the notion is still there, yes?

The 4th image in post #151 and similar, that's fantastic. It's just got such a comforting feeling to it. It's even a style seen in a few other places, but it's really nice and just what I needed this morning.

    Thanks a bunch for posting.

A couple of little pictures iv'e done over the past few days, both measure somewhere around 13 - 16cm wide and high. Trying to get heavy lines with supersoft pencils on such a small scale is crazy hard. Also trying to get gold leaf to evenly shine...
I need to do some proper studying
