whoooa, talk about inspirational! i LOVE your work, love your style, love everything. thanks for taking the time to leave a note in my book because i might never have discovered your wonderful art otherwise. funny, i was just paging through brian froud's art of Labyrinth yesterday - can't help but see some similarities in style and subject. keep up the good work!!

You are really good and you have strong style. That bookcover you've done needs more work to be beliveable. You know, some patina. Maybe a little bit sandpaper and paint darker colors to suitable spots.

Sadetar - I sort of understand. Nice to see you again
    whisperss - Thanks!
TATKA - Hopefully I managed it ok. I can be really crap with colours sometimes.
DeeStar - Do it. Go traditional!
    JeffZNY - Thanks!
    Windsrock - Nice idea, thanks!

I would have finished this sooner if I hadn't been so lazy. I really wish I had a nice big scanner
Think I will give up using white gouache for highlights, it always seems to fade away to nothing, so I use pastel instead. I think the witches face is way too dark, and the ground didnt come out the colour it should be..
    SIGH

I really like the atmosphere and look of that illustration! really screams children's books, fairy tales, rpgs. Gives me a nostalgic feeling. Sorry can't really give any crits though :/.

Lovely work. That girl in your latest piece looks like she just stepped in from a Bauer painting. Really nice to see, I love his style and it seems like nobody does anything like it these days.

Since you were soliciting crits earlier, here's a few:

Your little cottage has very straight walls, which detracts from the overall organic feel. (I do love the wavery fence posts and chimney.) Also, the stonework of the window and well is very regular. Might be more natural looking if the rocks weren't so well-matched. Visually speaking...

(Please excuse my crappy sketch. Hopefully you can see what I'm getting at.)

And at the gouaches, if I understood correctly, too pale? And you did not try white acrylic or tempera?

Wow! Really like those pen drawings and watercolor work. Love the hand made book too. You have a few illustrations with a straight on composition which is fine but Im wondering if you have tried some dynamic perspectives and angles. Just a suggestion. Say maybe the house in the last piece could be angled? Anyway Good work!!!!

Your work stylization is trully fascinating. I am staring at all those subtle colour transitions and I tihnk you're using traditional feeling to your advance. All delicate forms combined with rich watercolor variations create awesome mood. The pumpkin is my favourite, reminds me of Mucha a lot. I'd say: keep your colours, but emphsize ink more

Wow, what a nice sketchbook You have a great style which would fit perfectly to illustrate fairytales! This creature-book you made (on page 3) is very cool, my favorite is the Flobbergookie More plz!

    Cacodaemonia - Thanks
mpdpsy - Ta, is ok, have one ready for next time >8D
Morgan R - I do see, on the actual final piece I did try drawing wobbly walls but it didnt seem to look right :s
    bestow - Ta
TATKA - Always nice to see you! Yes I am a fool, I forgot to try Acrylic!
    iphigen - glad you enjoy
Bendragon - Thanks, and yes I will remember next time to do something more dynamic. Must not fear the dynamic >: (
artozi - Subtle colour transitions? Perhaps too subtle, nothing jumps out very much I think. (I did miss using ink on that last one)
GunTrouver - Looks like im going in the right direction then!

    Thanks for comments people!
Stolen my mums scanner so I can finally scan anything small enough(sketches mm?)
Think iv'e also found out whats been adding extra fuzz to my pics...

(Sorry for this pitiful update, I must try harder > )
P.S. Can anyone enlighten me as to how I can put comments under pictures?

I love your work. You've inspired me to bust out my watercolors.

J: Don't call my escorts hookers.
    B: Mom's still got it!
    J: I don't date whores!
L: This objectification of women has to stop!
M: It's just mom and whores...

again the line quality and watercolor work is really really lovely!
loving the costume and design, and def you've got a really strong imagination!
these last two are especially impressive, only thing i might suggest are that you sketches show you could pay a bit more attention in the basic construction phase, wich could give your character more "weight" and "structure".that and perhaps some more work on the drapery and different types of folds...apart from this i really dig the style and attention to details and painting style!

    ciao!

Yeah, these last two finished characters are great! The colors and style definitely make me think of something from a fairytale. I agree with The Gnoll's crits, especially about the drapery. This guy's cape, for example, doesn't really make sense.

    Eiki - Thankies
Cacodaemonia - Its true, I was probably trying to be clever -_- it doesnt make sense at all!

Been doing a bit of sketching lately but I will only post some stuff (there must be some form of quality control!). These are sort of quick designs and washes - It shows too.(Gold leaf doesn't scan so well )
