    on the first video, he did not explain how to open the new document...and when he opened his "new document" he has some weird guidelines going across it...when I open mine up it has none..how do I get the guidelines on it?

    Why did he use the pen and pencil tool to draw a square and circles?
    He should've used the shape tool.

    Splashup.com is a pretty good "almost Photoshop" for image editing.
