Icon Slowly getting better... [02. August 2010] HUGE update

    Hi, uuh..
I'd like to introduce myself since I'm stalking this community for a few months now and was too nervous posting something.
    I feel too unskilled anyways.
I try to do art more frequently and more determined. I really couldn't finish my work properly for almost a year

Yeah i am 17 years old now, live in Germany and have other nicknames like kill, jatzu or tonyt.
You may know me from the german oekaki Neverending Skies or the Sroekaki
    or Deviantart

My art is kind of.. hum.. I don't know, you tell me.

So here's some examples of stuff I do.

I hope you can help me improving.

oh and thanks to narai for encouraging me to get active here.

    -
edit, i removed the pictures from the attachment manager here.. it's kinda impractical.

    Update #1

okay, uploading the pictures to the forum server isn't the best idea, i think.
    so
    photobucket glory.
i was too lazy these weeks, sry.

I started getting more into drawing landscapes again. really fun

    also clouds

drawing while on the bus isn't the best idea. very shaky, i like the structure, though.

some older still life from head (if you can even call it that way)

(sry for the super large ones, I forgot to resize these)

life portrait of a friend from school. doesn't look anything like her

    neither does this one

oekaki-attempt at canines.. turned out so horribly bad, that i had to disguise the crappy lines

    and some character/clothing design

i really have to figure out, what image-sizes i will be using for this thread...

    Update #2

Okay I didn't do enough good stuff to show around, but i DO show around anyways, haha.

Some concept for a wicked witch - oekaki

pigeon-man, weekly theme at - oekaki

trying out the SFX tutorial on clouds i found somewhere here -oekaki

just to ensure you, that i haven't got much better in anatomy these weeks - oekaki

and a validation of it - i like the face, though - oekaki

also to be found in the daily sketch group, i like it, though the shading and all makes no sense at all - open canvas 1.1

another kinda gotham-ish city with.. birds attacking.
    Don't ask.

i totally forgot to say thank you espenboi!
That elf was a present to a friend of mine.

    soooo..
I went to the local forest today and did some studies:

rough scenery, hard to do with a mechanical pencil.

    a closeup of a tree

thennn..: these are my first tries at watercolors, i like them pretty much

the pencil sketch was a bit older, though

before and after - i like the before more, though :/

this one's kinda older. felt pens in philosophy class

    yays for fanart

    final fantasy tactics A2

    Pokemon - shame on me

a scenery concept, originally for english class

    own ideas

tried that 'seeing the actual colors' stuff algenpfleger and janaschi do
    i failed

sorry for the crappy quality.. next time, ill buy a sketchbook without rings so i can scan properly but photograph

Hey, I should update more often.
I started taking art more seriously these days again, I started doing a daily self-portrait.
As soon as I can find my camera, I'll show you the drawings (my scanner's on strike)
So I do some posemaniacs but I feel like not improving enough *sigh*
only true solution.. PRACTICING EVEN MORE!
    but first my latest junk

^this was actually a commission. it's a humanized pokemon called shaymin or sth. like that.

that self portrait looks familiar .0. the colors are pretty awesome
    gasmasks > sparta

and it wasn't so much as art skillez I was afraid of on sro, it was the content. I just don't fit in. at all. and like everyone draws the same thing WITH THE SAME STYLE I CAN NEVER TELL ANYONE APART AUGH it's kind of annoying B\

Jaytea thanks! and yeah, I kinda see what you mean. But why not invading SRO with different styles? I bet there are plenty of other artists feeling the same.
andres333 thank you, yes, you are absolutely right. I practiced a little to get the patience back but it's an overall issue I have to come over with.

Anyways, I just have a small update,
because I've had a tendosynovitis for almost 2 months,
    my tablet isn't working and
I needed a little to get adjusted to using traditionals again.

This is my first finished acrylic-painting,
I needed to do it in one night, because the deadline for the contest I participate in was the next day
(so I kinda rushed these two pieces again ).

and this is for the same contest, also done in that night.
I really don't like the coloring, but whatever.

And for rounding it up a little, this is a little photomanipulation i did for fun.

Update! I got a new tablet, so I'm ready to draw digital again!

Some stuff I did these days:

I'm kinda proud of this, but could PLEASE someone help me with the anatomy?
    I'd love to finish this.

A self-portrait-sketch, maybe I'm gonna finish this sometime. It's just really hard, especially if you chose to cover the wrong eye.

    and two small oekaki

Oh and does anybody know, ¿how to get pen-pressure work in oekaki on a mac?

    Thx and bye!

Stuff I actually shouldn't have had time to do.

Some eye studies. Still needed the color picker far too often. The shape sucks too.. :/

I tried to make a Sherwood Forest-y thing for the Robin Hood contest but didn't finish

    random landscape

    random atlantis

    sillhouettes:

    oekakis:

I actually have an almost full sketchbook i could post here, but I still don't know how to take photos, because it's small and unhandy and the light is always so awful. D:

That sketchbook of yours (i mean the physical one irl) is a treasure chest, slowly collecting more jewelry and goodies !
Keep drawing, add more luxury to the world

Those are some great oekakis! I can never do anything good on those because my drawing feels so boxed in in 300x300 spaces that practice ones offer. I love the hunet from Final Fantasy Tactics I really like that random landscape too

VampireVlad Wow thank you I feel flattered! I wish I could show you some more from my real sketchbook soon.

deerinheadlights thank you! But where do you draw them? Usually you can adjust the canvas size to whatever size you wish! Maybe another oekaki would do it for you?

Sorry for the lack of updates in the last months, i've had super much to do at school and little time for internet. Of course I didn't stop drawing

And now after summer vacation started I have a lot time for a lot more updates!
The first 3 weeks I will be out of country though, so I can't say if I can get internet there.

Also I got very lazy. From now on it will be again:
    Every day:
    2x 5min 60 seconds drawings
    1 close-up figure study
1 random study (whatever i notice that doesn't work; Portrait, Landscapes...)

And whatever I like to add that day. & at least 1 painting once a week. u_u

I finally found my camera but lost the charging cable, so again no real life stuff D: I iz sorreh

    self portrait

messing around with edges. needed to stop in the middle of making it D: lost the original data

Also I found these AMAZING books from Andrew Loomis online!
I learn't so much already, even though I didn't read too much yet.
So some more study-ish stuff here.

From that skintone tutorial on DA.

    For the amazing Deltamue

Also some badly drawn Pokemon shit

I really don't like how cluttered the pictures are spread over the page... Is there a way to prevent this?

Sry I've been absent for so long.
I was very lazy again, I'm sorry. Even though I've had 6 weeks of vacation I didn't even draw near as much as I wanted D:
BUT still I think I've improved!

So I've been 2 weeks in spain and had my notebook and tablet with me. so when i was very bored and there was nothing to do, I made some studies.

    Sorted almost chronologically.

    then some free drawings inbetween

    a present for a friend

    photo studies at home then
(girltripped.deviantart.com is the source for the first one)

    and free doodling again

Last but not least some oekaki

and i visited the amazing idnorant in luxemburg and we drew this together

    the footnailfairy

sorry for the HUGE update and the HUGE images ._.
I'll try to resize the images better next time...

Hey thanks for the feedback on my sketchbook. Your SB is great, i love your sketches they have such great energy to them. The only things i suggest is to go back and do a few more anatomy studies now n then, your anatomy is good but its always usefull to refine it as it can get a bit sloppy, also you just needto spent more time on everything as it seems alittle rushed and unfinished (i hve exactly the same problem so not sure what to say for advice) but goodluck, our doing great so far
