    Drugs + Art

    (Smoking Marijauna)

i have never been so good with my oil brush in painter apart from yesterday when i was high, it was like i had complete focus on what i was doing, nothing bothered me and i didn't feel that spark of panic that i feel normally, it was like peace. having absolute control of my body with perfect vision and no harsh lights.
Then again having that reality for permanent would be abnormal , what if i had some bad hallucinations or my mind created an alternate world that i am more pleased with. i was scared that i wouldn't return to my normal state. the high lasted a whole day.

i wonder if i can achieve that level of focus in real time without the aid of drugs

Sorry, closing this thread, because the subject crops up far too often.

Smoking weed doesn't help your skills and WILL lead to paranoia, laziness and dependancy.

Being high does relax you, so you focus less on the job at hand, and don't stress at the things you usually stress at. BUT, this can lead you to a habit of smoking each and everytime you go to paint, trying to relive that feeling you had when you were not stressed- and thats dangerous. The more you smoke, the less likely you will get that chilled out feeling that you had before...You cannot start associating smoking weed with helping your art.

Achieving the results you want without drugs CAN be done!

You need to be very, very strict with yourself.

    Trust me...
