Rough gaming concept sketch. Black prismacolor pencil on Dura-lene vellum and a little gesso and photoshop for the highlights. Cheers Mike http://skl.sh/18HD8Yi

Haha I love seeing that robot shark next to her daddy's work. So much detail everywhere. She is a "little Mike Butkus in training". Can't imagine how good the kid will be, starting that early and already that good. Inspires me to be more creative!

Great update Mike, your daughter is another master in the making for sure, love the shark Tell me Mike, when concepting do you more often than not have a visual idea of how characters will look before you begin? Or do they evolve as you go? Or is it a combination of both? Also any tips on costume design? I'm trying to get my brain geared towards imagination type stuff and well, who better to ask than you

Awesome work and great to see your Daughter off to a great start too. My 4 Year has started too, hopefully at age 7, she will be drawing cool robot sharks and such!

My amazing little girl recycled robot project, from sketch to finish. She's better with the airbrush than I am, and only seven years old!

Your child has really fun to do it all. I find it fantastic to see the kid worked on the metal scuplture. If all children could have so much attention, the world would be much better, I think.
    This fish is awesome!

Your work is incredibly inspiring to me. If I even end up half as skillful, I will die happy.

Thanks so much for sharing, and continuing to share, your amazing work. Keep it up!
