I was waiting for you to start one Thanks!!

I really like the compo on this last one.. I'd put the dragons facing the same line as the magician's eyes, but it rocks anyway

Cool start here, but the backlight on the fairy thing is a little to bland, mix it up and mush it around a bit!

Awesome paintings, it looks like that you have a firm grip on anatomy and color theory. However, I'd like to know what kind of paint do you use?

I like your figurative paintings and the soft glowing strokes of color. I'm a bit confused if the top painting is of a female or male. At first I thought it was a male since it has very strong dark furrows, with slight chiseled features and displaying magical power. But then I see breast features under the coat?...so it's Female?

    Thank you everyone!

Mischeviouslittleelf: I fully agree, the backlight makes her look too outlined. I plan on revisiting this one a little later to make some improvements and mix it up.

FightingSeraph: I use photoshop for probably 98% of my work. I do sketch with pencil and occasionally try oil, but I'm not too skilled with real paint. It's so much less forgiving.

Pigeonkill: That was for the supervillain self-portrait chow - I have a baby face, so I tried to make my expression and features more severe. It does come off a little masculine, but yes it is a girl

Here I've added the wip for the self portrait chow and my sith chow. When I get a chance I'll add some personal non-chow related work

OK that sith femme fatale is AWESOME. I really think you nailed it^^ The format might look better as a whole figure though, with her dress sorta flowing away into darkness or something

Mischeviouslittleelf - Thanks, and it's funny you should suggest that! It was originally longer at the bottom, but I was running so low on time I was worried it would look more unfinished if I left it on. You're right though, it suffered from the crop.

Josef K, Peter Berkovski, Blue Severin, PieMonster, danielablanco and vayne108 - Thank you! I'm trying to draw as much as possible, and I'm so pumped about the workshop I'll be updating constantly

Here's a sketch I'm working on, plus my progress on Aphotic Phoenix's portrait from this thread in the lounge.

Doesn't entirely look like her photo, but I'm trying

I really like how you are building the portrait on top of the texture background and bringing the lights out. Keep posting the wips, I can't wait to see how this goes.

The textures and cool color highlights on the bottom portrait make it look very mysterious. I like the fact it's loose but says a lot on the features. Thanks for showing the break down of the villain painting.
